At the age of 15, Liam was a master of the claymore and protected his family and younger sister, Erin. This role suited Liam, being that his name meant �Determined Guardian.� Protecting his family suited Liam, for a time. He began to get bored with his mundane settings; Liam wanted to venture out into the world. It was at the age of 19 that Liam decided to go out and discover the world. Despite his mother�s protest, he received his parents blessing, and a special gift as well, his father�s claymore. With his bags packed, Liam set out toward his father�s birthplace, Scotland.
On his way to the Irish coast, Liam decided to rest his feet for he had been walking for two days now with his boot wearing thin. As Liam lay there resting, he began to hear the faint sound of bagpipes in the air, being enthralled by the beautiful sounds that were coming from player. Finding the source of the music, Liam began to talk with the musician and found him to be Dougal Cameron. It just so happened to be that Dougal had recently came to Ireland to escape the rule of Queen Mary�s half brother, the Early of Moray. Making fast friends with the piper, Liam discovered that the piper was of the military sort. After much talk about seeing the world, Dougal took Liam to meet Seamus O�Howley, captain of the Bealtuinn Free Company. After hearing the stories of Seamus and finding the possibilities of seeing the world, Liam was ready to serve right there. Liam now serves as Bealtuinn�s �Determined Guardian.�
