In Strict Confidence
"Love Kills!"
WTII Records

First, I have to say I'm so glad to see the old familiar (WTII=WAXTRAX TWO) name from Chicago putting out the good "underground" industrial and gothic music again. They got me into this lifestyle choice and it was very disappointing to see them begin the decline back in the mid-90s. BUT, they're back and working for you the real fans!
"Love Kills!" is the first release from them that I have quickly latched onto. Just a quick intro to the band incase you are unfamiliar. According to the WTII site the band formed in 1992. "The volatile combination of Dennis Ostermann (Vocals/Programming) and Jorg Schelte (Programming) have been soaring up the German charts since the band's inception. ISC burst onto the scene to rave reviews and praises from media and fans worldwide. Soon after, In Strict Confidence was named Orkus Magazine's newcomer of the year." Since then the band has released five full length albums, several singles and an EP. Take the old attitude, the new technology, the old aggression and the new information and you've got In Strict Confidence.
This album has everything I want to hear in a club when I go out after dark. Hard, heavy sounds are juxtaposed with the delicate yet forceful feminine vocals (though most are from lead singer Dinnis who is male). Dark melodic sounds are mixed with german and english lyrics of death, freedom, hell, love and philosophical thought behind them all.
This album goes beyond the typical 125 bpm dance floor sounds that made WaxTrax a household name, ISC delves into the world of dark drum and bass as well as straight up noise and does so on individual tracks as well as within some of the "typical 125bpm songs" without cluttering things. Without getting carried away, I think you should all check them out, especially at Jade if you can. And let's all pray that this is a band that will play in the states, preferrably Tally, FLA!
