Texas Love Song

Bluebonnets dancing in the wind.
Wide open spaces ..
that stretch endlessly on.
A beauty that is so indescribable..
that it makes your heart ache.
A wildness that makes you sense
that this place has stayed unchanged
for countless years.
Men that wear cowboy hats.. and boots..
as comfortably as a second skin.
Prairie skies so vast..
that you can surely see every star in the solar system.
Air that smells so sweet and clean as no where on earth
A land of myths and legends...
Stories of heros and gallantry..
Boone.. Crockett.. Houston..
The Alamo.. Goliad.
Their presence still felt as strongly today as then.
and once visited.. it forever becomes a part of you.
I look out my window into the smog filled New York afternoon..
not seing the concrete.. the tall buildings.. the masses of people.
and dream of a place..
where my heart once danced..
and now resides..
a place touched by God's own hand..
I dream.. of Texas.
