When I first got this little sweetie, it was quite obvious he was beaten and abused. No one could touch his ears (which are quite large, I might add lol) and he is still deathly afraid of newspapers. It took a long time to get some trust out of this dog, but, with nothing but love and kisses, he is SO much different from the scared, timid little boy I first met. He's trying out basic obedience right now which has made a world of difference in his listening skills :)
There is nothing this youngin likes more than chasing stuff. His favorite toys are tennis balls, and his kong!
He also likes to hop across the window chasing kids outside, cars, bikes, rollerbladers...anything that moves! lol
It was tough when Chico first came to live with us. My other two dogs had a hard time adjusting to the rambunctious pup. Willie still has a hard time sharing mommy's attention, but he's getting better. Chico was also a bit aggressive towards the other dogs, but once he got neutered, he became a gentle little guy.
I was told when I got him, that he didn't really get along with cats. Well, that's not the case. He gets along great with my older, slower cat. As for the younger, more fiesty cat...he loves to chase her. He got quite the scratch on his eyeball not too long ago from her (he's all better now) and he's got scars and scabs on his poor head from the kitty.
I also have rats, who he has claimed as his. Anytime I do anything near their cages, he's right there sniffing and kicking his back legs like he just wants to grab one lol He sits near their cage, whines at them, scratches at the floor around them and when one comes over to see him, he usually ends up with a nip on the nose lol
Chico, all in all, is settling in well. He's a very excitable little squirt. He can be completely exausted, but will still jump up when he hears something lol
