| Robert Melvin Kuhlmann born Dec. 25, 1942. After spending much of his childhood at Auburn, NE,
the family moved to McCook, NE. Bob Graduated from Red Willow Highschool (6 miles east of McCook) in 1961. With his Dad, he purchased
the Shamrock Service Station that fall and operated it until 1965 when he bought the Derby Service Station. He was married on Aug. 5, 1962
to Verleen Rice, born Sept. 20, 1944. Bob enlisted in the National
Guard in 1966 and served 6 years until 1972. In 1973 Bob sold his share of the Derby Station to his brother Charles, then went to work for he
Burlington Northern railroad working as a Conductor.
He retired from the (then) BNSF in July 2004. They retired to Kearney, NE where they built a new home. Besides making an annual trip to Canada
to go fishing, Bob enjoys restoring old cars.
Bob and Verleen adopted two children, Darcie and Garth.
