After a two year stint in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea, Omer returned to the airlines,
working for Braniff in Kansas City, Omaha, and Denver in baggage, operation, and ticket sales.
During this time he met and married Beverly Hutton who worked for Frontier Airlines as a
reservationist. They were later divorced.
When Braniff ceased operations, Omer went to work for Frontier Airlines. When they also went
bankrupt he went to work for the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. until he was forced to
take a medical disability due the loss of an eye.
Omer met Gladys Mahoney, born Sept 3, 1941, who was teaching school in his home town of Sterling. They were married on July 9, 1994, and made their home in Sterling. Gladys and her late husband, Pat Mahoney had 2 children, Doug. and Deb. Omer has been very active in his church, St. John Lutheran, and also the American Legion.

This Case tractor was purchases new by Theodor and Edwin Kuhlmann in 1936 for $800.00. Instructions on the bill of sales specified, "Must receive payment of 3 horses at time of delivery". Omer purchased back the tractor in 2005 and restored it. |
