Later divorced (no children). Al met Theresa O'Connor (originally from Galesburg, Illinois) while his ship was undergoing repairs in the Long Beach, California shipyard. Married Theresa (born May 13, 1955) on August 17, 1984. Al & Theresa have two children. |

Following 22 years of Naval service (having made six extended deployments
while serving aboard three ships: USS America, USS Belleau Wood, and USS
Kitty Hawk in addition to shore duty assignments in San Diego, Hawaii,
and Joplin, Missouri), settled in Peoria, Illinois. Al and Theresa have two
Children, Angela and Joseph.
