Chapter 1--Depression::
"WHAT'S with that boy these days?"
"Must be all those..., those magic junk that he's learned. They're making his brain go cuckoo, as if he's ever had a brain."
Harry Potter laid on his bed in his room, listening to the comments of his aunt and uncle. Ever since he had returned from his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he's been a whole different person. Usually at this time during the summer he would be eager to return to his school, however, this time, he wanted never to return to the magical community.
Just last year he had encountered Lord Voldemort for the fifth in his life and have gotten away for the fifth time. However, the same fate didn't meet his godfather, who died fighting with Bellatrix Lestrange, one of Voldemort's supporters. The loss of his godfather had hit him too hard, and he's lost the will to live on, it wasn't his fault, really. After all, he's lost his father and mother at the age of one, and now he lost the person he had who's closest to a parent.
His friends know how terrible this is for him, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his two closest friends at Hogwarts, had sent him various gifts and encouraging letters, however, Harry didn't look twice at the letters before throwing them away. On his birthday, his friends had even came to Privet Drive, forcing him to leave the house and follow them to the Burrow, but after the fifth vase that Uncle Vernon had thrown at Hermione, they were forced to leave in failure.
More than once this year Harry had blamed himself for Sirius's death, If I wasn't so stupid! If I didn't listen to that Kreacher! If I didn't found out what's behind the Department of Mysteries! If I had just tried hard in Occlumency! If I... His thoughts are drowned out by the loud tapping of the window. He looked towards the window and there was a large owl, pecking the glass.
"Hey! Cut that out!" He yelled angrily at the owl, but nonetheless opened the window and took off the parchment tied to the owl's talons.
He unrolled the parchment, which bared the insignia of Hogwarts, and read to himself:
Dear Mr. Potter,

Harry stared in disbelief, he's got an "Excellent" on his Potions exam? But then again, Professor McGonagall did say that she'll make sure he becomes an Auror. Harry read on,

Harry stared again, he's already bad enough in normal Occlumency, and Dumbledore expects him to take N.E.W.T. Occlumency as well?! And what's this? There's two Dark Arts teacher, one whom he knew, and one who he didn't, however, those initials looks very familiar.
Also included is a list of possible Apparation testing schedules, if you would like to take an Apparation test, please report to the Ministry of Magic and sign up at any convenient time.
Harry crumpled up the letter and tossed it aside. Usually receiving letters from the magical world would get him excited, but now, he wanted anything but having to go back. He dropped onto his bed again, and at the precise moment, his scar, the lightning shaped scar, starts to burn and Harry screamed in agony.
"See, told you that kid's brain's gone mad," Uncle Vernon said from downstairs. Even so, he went upstairs to see what was wrong with the boy, because he was threatened by three wizards and one witch just a month ago. "All right boy, what's the matter?" He opened the door and Harry was sitting on his bed as if nothing had happened.
"What do you mean?" Harry said.
"I meant why did you just scream so loud that the whole neighborhood could've heard you?" Uncle Vernon said, going red in the face, apparently trying not to blow.
"Oh, that." Harry said. "I hit my, er, toe."
Uncle Vernon rolled his eyes, turned away, and slammed the door behind him. As soon as he had left, Harry clutched his scar again, why is it hurting like this? Aunt Petunia's voice traveled upstairs, telling him that dinner was ready, breaking his thoughts. His scar cooled, and he went downstairs to join the Muggles in dinner.
IT has been a few hours after, Harry crept back upstairs after dinner, not having the least intention to join his relatives in watching Dudley's favorite wrestling show. He put his glasses on the bedside table and fell asleep.., then he saw.
There was a loud scream, it sounded like Aunt Petunia. "No!! Dudders!! No, my Ickle Diddykins!!" There was a loud pop as another figure appeared.
"Petunia! You must leave!!"
"No!!"
"I will have to force you to leave, Petunia." The figure seized his aunts wrists and Disapparated.
"Ha ha ha!!" Harry heard himself laugh. "Foolish Muggles, hand the boy over now!"
"No!" Came the defiant voice of his uncle. "As much as I hate him, he is still my relative! Now begone!"
"Fool...," there was a flash of green light, and Harry awoke, his scar on fire.
There were sounds coming from downstairs, "No!! Dudders!!" Harry's eyes widened in disbelief, his dream is coming true? There were several loud cracks and Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and Nymphadora Tonks appeared in his room.
"Quick, Harry. Get your things." Hermione said.
"What's-"
"Now, Harry!" Mr. Weasley whispered. Thinking that he'd ask questions later, he obeyed.
There was another crack downstairs, "Petunia! You must leave!!"
"We don't have time, everyone, help Harry!" Tonks said in an urgent voice.
The voice below traveled upstairs, "Hand the boy over now!" Came the shrill, cold voice of Lord Voldemort.
Harry grabbed Hedwig's cage, he's got everything. He turned around and saw Ron and Hermione busy tying clothes and blankets into a rope, swing the window open, and heaved one end of the rope out of the window.
"Get your Invisibility Cloak!" Ron said hoarsely. There was the green flash of light, and Harry's scar is hurting more than ever. Tonks tooks out her wand and pointed at the door. There were footsteps, footsteps coming upstairs.
"Quickly! Get under the Cloak!" Mrs. Weasley almost shrieked as the six of them huddled under the cloak. The door opened, and Voldemort screamed at the sight of the open window, the empty room, and the rope hanging down from the window. Voldemort cursed and fired the Dark Mark into the sky and left.
"Let's go!" Mr. Weasley whispered, and the six of them took off the cloak and crept downstairs. Harry, Ron, and Hermione gasped at the scene; the once clean and beautiful living room was now mutilated, inhabited by the dead bodies of Dudley and Uncle Vernon. They went out into the darkness and as soon as they're out of the house, Hermione bent over and vomited.
"I assume you haven't gotten your Apparation license?" Mr. Weasley asked. Harry shook his head. "Well, that's alright." He made some sort of signal to the end of Privet Drive, and a purple triple-decker appeared.
Stan stepped out of the bus and wave at them, "Quickly, quickly!!" The six of them hopped on the bus. "Alright, Ernie, let's go!"
"To where?" Harry asked.
No one talked, that is, until Hermione broke the silence. "I'm sorry, Harry. But we have nowhere else to hide except Grimmauld Place."
Harry fell silent. He walked solemnly towards his bunk and pulled the covers over his head. Ron stepped on Hermione's foot.
