Ending of Doraemon
Note: This is not the real ending, it’s completely made up!
Every single day of the year, the life of Nobi Nobita is the same: getting shout at by teachers for forgetting his homework, getting beat-up and picked on by Jyian and Suneo, even his future wife, Shizuka, promised to marry someone else. Today’s the same as yesterday, which the same as the day before…
The only change in this day is Doraemon. Nobita, as usual, ran back home crying for Doraemon to give him some new item to get revenge on Jyian and Suneo. However, Doraemon just sit there, in their room, motionless. No matter how hard Nobita kick, punch, shout, Doraemon just won’t move. Nobita thought that Doraemon might be resting his internal wires and computer, so he waited until the night…
Doraemon still sits motionless in the center of the room. Nobita is worried, wearing his pajamas, he traveled to the future and looks for Doraemon’s sister Dorami. Dorami looked at her brother and immediately realized that Doraemon’s battery ran out, but…there’s no back-up battery…Nobita did not understand and asked Dorami to explain to him.
It turned out that Cat-typed robots has back-up batteries incase the main battery runs out, then when the back-up battery activates, the robot can go and change its main battery.
"So why didn’t Doraemon’s back-up battery work?" cried Nobita.
Dorami thought about it, and realized something important: the back-up batteries are stored in the robots’ ears, but…Doraemon doesn’t have ears. (You should know this if you’ve read/seen Doraemon).
Nobita and Dorami sat there in silent, and depressed, at long last, Dorami asked…
"Are you willing to have onichan lose all his memory?"
The main reason for the back-up battery is so that the robot won’t lose their memories when the get new batteries replaced…now, if Doraemon is to have his batteries replaced, he would lose all his memory.
Nobita understood what Dorami meant, he closed his eyes and thought about everything he and Doraemon have done together as images race across his mind. They’ve been to the past, the future; they’ve saved a baby dinosaur from being capture, save an underwater city from destruction, and they’ve fought endless battles in different galaxies and planets.
Tears streamed down Nobita’s face, in the end, he chose to keep Doraemon as he is…Nobita is currently in sixth grade.
Ten something years passed, Nobita returned from his studies in America, and is now a handsome, intelligent man. Walking beside him, is his wife, Shizuka.
That year, after Dorami went back to the future, Nobita tells people that Doraemon went back also, the truth is, Doraemon is still in his room, in his closet, all those years. In order to fix Doraemon, Nobita changed, he studied hard and got into famous universities and is now the executive of a big enterprise.
One day, Nobita invited Shizuka to his own personal off-limits laboratory, holding a sort of device, and inserted it into Doraemon.
Quietly he said, "I’m gonna turn him on now…"
There’s a moment of silence as Nobita cries silently, it’s for this moment that he worked so hard for. For this moment, he turned from an idiot, who forgets his homework day and night, whose test scores are easier to count backwards; to the position he’s in today.
He pressed the button.
Silence. Silence. Silence…
The silence was broken by the familiar sound of running machine, Doraemon’s mouth opened; a word came out of his mouth…
"Nobita-kun…"
