Cultural - Artistic Association
LOLA
Sarajevo,
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Following the end of the Second
World War there were numerous
cultural - artistic associations
established and developed.
Even in 1946 some associations
of this kind were established
and they were later integrated
into CAA "LOLA".
Folk group "LOLA"
used to be a symbol of cultural
- artistic amateurism and
culture in general at Sarajevo
and wider. The main characteristics
of the association used to
be: the wide scope of activities,
numerous members and high
quality of artistic expression.
In its long history, it was
considered one of the best
amateur associations in Bosnia
and Herzegovina.

Its
artistic creativity, folk
group "LOLA", had
presented, with enormous success,
on all worlds continents during
the reviews, festivals and
all - night concerts. For
its dexterity, scenic and
artistic expression "LOLA"
had won many awards from municipal,
cantonal, state, international
and other organizations.
The
CAA "LOLA" had a
very important role during
the last aggression against
Bosnia and Herzegovina, so
that it was given a status
of a priority collective for
the defence of the Novo Sarajevo
Municipality, as well as for
the defence of the city of
Sarajevo. "LOLA"
is the only cultural - artistic
association in city of Sarajevo,
which never stopped its activities
despite frequent shelling
of the city and aggression
on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
While nourishing and perfecting the various forms of
artistic expression, and the
cultural heritage in particular,
CAA "LOLA" was showing
its creative achievements
in folk music and dance on
various stages abroad - in
Switzerland, France, Bulgaria,
Greece, Czech Republic, Slovak
Republic, Italy and Sicily,
Netherlands, Belgium, England,
Turkey, Austria, Sweden, Norway,
Spain, Iraq and other countries.
Because of its highest artistic
level of each performance,
"LOLA" won numerous
high-ranking European prizes.
The Cultural - Artistic Association "LOLA"
has a goal to preserve all
parts of national folklore,
which includes folk dances,
music ensemble, folk songs,
amateur theatre, choir, group
and solo singers and many
others types of artistic impressions.
THE FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE
One
of the most successful ensembles
in "LOLA� is the folk
dance ensemble, which on its
repertoire has about 22 folk
choreographies. All choreographies
are performed in original
folklore costumes. The folk
dance ensemble is divided
on representing ensemble and
children�s ensemble.
THE
FOLK DANCES AND SONGS ORCHESTRA
Beside folk dance ensemble "LOLA" has the
folk dances and songs orchestra.
This branch has a goal of
preserving folk music and
songs.

Of course, there are choir, amateur theatre and
many other branches all with
a final cause of guarding
national cultural heritage.
