RIVERS OF SARAWAK ( SUNGAI DI SARAWAK) |

In the past,river is the only way to access to the interior part of Sarawak. Most of the towns & villages are build beside the rivers. In the upper part of the river , most of the native people are Dayak tribe. In the lower part of the river, Malay is the majority people staying near to the river. Chinese are staying in the town ,nearby to the river. Some rivers in Sarawak are infested with the man eating crocodile, especially the brackish water.That's why i seldom go for fish collecting in the brackish water....too dangerous! The most famous "crocodile river" is called Batang Lupar, in Seri Aman division. It is famous because a lot of men & children became the victim of the hungry croc. Besides croc., freshwater dolphin also found in the river of Sarawak! (near Santubong) In this page, i'll show some picture of the rivers which are taken by me during my fish collection trip.
