| I started to collect fish & aquatic plant in March 2003.Since i'm staying in the north western part of Borneo (Sarawak), i collected some fish in the nearby area of Kuching (my hometown). ***Note: pink color marks the collection area in year 2003.In the following year, i went further to the most western part of Sarawak and further north to Sibu - Miri area. The collection points in Sibu - Miri area is not big enough hence i failed to find some beautiful fish , especially the "Brunei beauty".( Betta macrostoma) ***Note: red color marks the collection area between January 2004 until June 2004. |

| In between June 2004 and Nov 2004, I spent most of my time in exploring the western part & central part of Borneo. Sometimes I revisited the area I already explored before. And the funny thing is, I found green variant of Sundadanio axelrodi in a blackwater river that I visited for more than 10 times! Previuosly I never found it in that river or nearby area and oneday I was going deep into the jungle to look for plant & I accidentely scooped up a beautiful green colored neon rasbora! That was a big surprise to me. Borneo is always full of excitement! I believe I still can find a lot of beautiful fishes and plants that most of the people in Borneo never seen it before! Note: blue color in the map above marks the area I explored in between June 2004 and Nov 2004. |
