The Astrological Atmosphere
November 2008 Astrology Report
By Linda Clave
This fall we have witnessed a nonstop roll-out of the last degrees of Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, in Sagittarius. November 26 will be the ingress of Pluto into Cardinal Capricorn. Last January Pluto entered Capricorn, but stationed retrograde April 2 at 1 Capricorn 09, passing backward over the last two degrees of Sagittarius. Then Jupiter on September 8, and Pluto on September 9, went direct. Shortly after the September Full Moon, shock waves began a domino effect triggering a world economic meltdown. Financial scandals reached unprecedented levels. Even former head of the Federal Reserve, Allen Greenberg, was shocked at the flaws in the free market economy. Since then we have seen a daily stock market roller coaster ride. Many retirees, or those on the verge of retirement, have lost the last ten years of gain, and recovery is doubtful.
On a lighter note, a friend shared an interesting clipping from the Wall Street Journal which stated, Horoscopes probably are as good a charting tool as any this time around. It mentioned that brokers are passing around astrological information (q.v., www.wsj.com/marketbeat"). Its legit. Panic lows have historically occurred on day 27/28 of the seventh lunar cycle, this Sunday and Monday. The panics of 1857/1907/1929/1987/1997 all marked their lows on these days in October. But today, October 28, as I write this, the market gained 900 points. What we do with these tides in the market makes a difference. It is not all fated!
At the dowsing convention last August, I attended a class given by a remarkable old-timer, Guenter Knoernschild, who has 60 years experience under his belt. He studied with Rudolf Steiner and developed remarkable abilities to dowse, from the inner planes, the Akashic Records. His work began after seeing an article on the absence of Sun Spot activity between 1500-1700. He noticed that low activity correlated with historical epochs of stress and wars. He mentioned the Thirty Years War (16181648), which was a religious war principally fought in Germany, where it involved most of the European powers. He felt it began with the birth of Martin Luther, November 10, 1483, in Eisleben, Germany. Luthers work opened the way to a divided Europe previously unified under a single faith. Guenter then dowsed the flux in cycles of cosmic energy all the way back to 40 BC and later forward to 2040 AD. Yearly on January 1 or 2 he dowses each month for the year. Last August I saw his charts for the rest of 2008 with an extreme drop for October, and now it is history. He sees November 2008 still down, a flat line in a toxically low register. His predictions for the extremely sharp drop this fall were based on an absence of Sun Spot activity and low tides of cosmic energy from celestial influences like the Milky Way. The Sun Spot activity runs on an 11-year cycle. From Wikipedia: The average duration of the sun spot cycle is about 11 years (about 28 cycles in the 309 years between 1699 and 2008), but cycles as short as 9 years and as long as 14 years have been observed. Significant variations in amplitude also occur. Guenter dowsed December 2008 as a slow climb into 2009. See the diagram dowsed January 20, 2000:
November 2. Neptune emerges from retrograde motion to station direct at 21 Aquarius 28. Mars in Scorpio is applying to square stationary Neptune. November 4, Election Day, it is exact. Hidden plots and scenarios become public knowledge. Keep your cool, and separate fact from fiction. This is not a good time, for the next week, to invest.
November 3 is a tough day just before the election, with Venus at 19 Sagittarius squaring Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces. More negative economic forecasting pushes the polls up and down.
November 4, the big Election Day, has so much astrological activity it is impossible to predict the end results! In the wee hours Mars in Scorpio squares Neptune in Aquarius. Racial issues could emerge. Time to straighten out all the spin in the midst of this perplexing camouflage. Then, as the polls open, Saturn in Virgo opposes retrograde Uranus. Upsets are sure to be in the making. Mercury, late morning, leaves the last degree of Libra and enters Scorpio. Voters become determined and resolute to uncover the facts and have their vote properly counted.
November 10 is a high-spirited day . The Sun at 18 Scorpio is in an inspired trine to retrograde Uranus in Pisces. Let your creativity rule.
November 12. Full Moon at 21 Taurus with 14 Virgo 09 rising over Washington, DC. Saturn at 19 Virgo 42 is in the First House of self or the nation in opposition to retrograde Uranus in Pisces in the Seventh House of both enemies and alliesan upsetting day and so complex, the emphasis will likely be on wrapping up loose ends from all that has happened during the election. Action is found in the angular houses and those with planets therein include: Saturn on the Ascendant, Uranus on the Descendant and Venus in the Fourth House of home, land and family, conjunct Pluto at 29Sagittarius. Romances can end, or find new fuel at deeper levels of honesty. A bright note is the ingenuity of Mercury and the Sun trine angular Uranus in the Seventh House. The Sun in the Third House conjunct Mars, and the Moon in the Ninth House are squaring Neptune in the Sixth House. Issues of leadership and communication with perhaps the higher courts drawn in can be in play. This is yet another day for caution in economic matters.
November 13. The Sun at 21 Scorpio exactly squares Neptune in Aquarius. Let your Higher Self and the Light be your beacon. Fighting clouds doesnt get you far. Also, Venus enters Capricorn, a Saturn-ruled Cardinal Earth sign, until December 8. This is all about administrative and strategic maneuvers. Expect a lot of corporate restructuring and changes in the financial packaging of funds.
November 16. Mars leaves its watery home in Scorpio and energizes the fiery Mutable sign Sagittarius until December 27 when it enters Capricorn and moves into a conjunction with Pluto. More adventure and a quest for fresh, new horizons mark this period. The movement is outward toward the freedom of wide-open spaces after the deep, inner emotional attachments period of Mars in Scorpio.
November 19. Mercury at 21 Scorpio squares Neptune in Aquarius . Mercury wants to dig deep and uncover the facts behind hidden or unresolved mysteries. Scandals could make the news.
November 21. The Sun enters Sagittarius. From the 2007 report: Sagittarius is the third sign of the fire triplicity. Sagittarius is mutable fire or the fire of transmutation. The glyph is the centaur, a horse on the bottom with a man on top who is aiming his bow upward into the heavens. Aiming high, fueled by aspiration, this Jupiter-ruled sign is always raising and stretching the bar in all directions. The mantra for the Sagittarian experience is, I see the goal. I reach the goal and see another. Philosophy, religion, higher education and world travel are featured in this sign. Jupiter, its ruling planet, is transiting through the conservative Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Rules and order take precedence over free-wheeling and expansive expression. Colleges are struggling with the direly sluggish economys effect on the ablity of parents to pay their childrens tuition. Emphasis is on the role of government as societys keeper.
November 23. Mercury now enters Sagittarius until December 12. As it leaves the depths of Scorpio behind, Mercury reaches outward toward goals with a fresh sense of direction.
November 26. Pluto returns to Capricorn on the eve of the New Moon on Thanksgiving Day. During this Pluto transit, economics, government and politics will need restructuring. But the big piece is the Green Movement placing priority on the awareness of planetary wholeness. Knowledge of our interrelatedness can inspire our ingenuity. The July 4, 1776 US chart has Pluto at 27 Capricorn. When correctly directed, the US, a Cancer nation, has the resources and capacity to help feed the world. This has the making of an exciting revolution. From the first Pluto ingress January 26, 2008: Pluto arrives on the eve of January 25. So the new trends are in Cardinal Earth. Capricorn is the most dynamic and pragmatic of signs to work out a new order. Order and step-by-step planning are imperative in order to succeed. When you are aware of how planetary shifts relate to your personal horoscope, you can take advantage of possibilities and anticipate the lessons you will meet along the way. The general pattern is for profound global change at an accelerating pace as Pluto moves through Capricorn until March, 2023. The Earth is rapidly losing its glaciers in Greenland, for instance. The worlds largest glacier is dumping slices into the ocean as the temperature rises, causing changes to the eco system. These changes harm many coldwater fish and other essential habitat-maintaining species. This is true for Glacier National Park as well. The topography of the current world will have an altered profile if these trends continue to raise sea levels. Areas of low elevation could be submerged. This, in turn, could impact world migration patterns at a level we have never seen. This is not science fiction but projected science from credible sources. Again, cardinal signs bring change and we must work with the positive possibilities in order to be part of the solution.
November 28. New Moon at 5 Sagittarius 49 with 18 Aquarius 32 rising over Washington, DC. on Thanksgiving Day. Expectations of the new US administration are apparent with this Tenth House lunation conjunct Mercury, the communicator, and Mars, the driver of the message/spin. A story is told with mystical Neptune at 21 Aquarius expressing through the window of the Ascendant. Chiron in the Twelfth House, almost on the Ascendant, suggests a healing note. Also in the Twelfth House is Venus approaching a conjunction to the ruling planet of the lunation, Jupiter, at 21 Capricorn trine Saturn at 20 Virgo 43 in the Seventh House. One can expect a return of confidence and cautious optimism for the economy within new government regulations. Yet, with Uranus in Pisces in the First House still bouncing around in opposition to Saturn in Virgo in the Seventh, a lot is up in the air as to what, when and how these changes will turn out.
