About Me
I was born 3 months premature. As a result, I have a disability called cerebral palsy (CP for short). It affects my ability to move around and also to do certain things by myself that others take for granted. For example, I need help getting up and dressed in the morning. I use a power wheelchair to get around.
My exposure to medical settings at young age is the main reason
I want a career in the medical field. From the time I was three years old,
I've wanted to be doctor. However, over the years I have realized how difficult
it is to get in medical school. Also, up until 1995 I didn't know about Child
Life. It is a really awesome and valuable profession. Children who are
sick greatly benefit from the services Child Life Specialists provide.
I also have an identical twin sister named Emilie. Emilie also has CP and uses a wheelchair, but has different interests. She is quite the entrepreneur! She has a storefront on Zazzle.com where she sells Child Life apparel and other merchandise. If you're interested, please follow this link to visit her store: Emilie and Friends, as she gets a better commission for the referral than if you went straight to Zazzle and looked her up. Thanks!
My Interests
I like to do many things. Some of my hobbies are: watching ice
skating, gymnastics, basketball, medical documentaries, volunteering, shopping,
reading, using the computer, surfing the internet, doing crafts, and other
various activities.
