Gold Valor Award

Awarded for voluntary acts of self-sacrifice and personal bravery by a cadet involving conspicuous risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.

Silver Valor Award

Awarded to a cadet for a voluntary act of heroism which does not meet the risk-of-life requirements of the Gold Valor Award

Cadet Humanitarian Award

Presented for humanitarian acts by a cadet involving actions above and beyond the call of duty.

Air Force Associating Award (AFA)

Air Force Association

Presented annually to the outstanding AS-III cadet in Air Force Junior ROTC who meets the following criteria :

1. ranks in the upper 5% in the Aerospace Science Class

2. ranks in the upper 10% of the academic class

3. is recommended by the ASI as the
    "Outstanding Aerospace Science Cadet" in the
    class

4. possesses characteristics contributing to
    leadership and future value in positions of
    responsibility such as:

    a.) positive attitude towards AFJROTC and
         school

    b.) personal appearance (uniform, posture,
         grooming)

    c.) personal attributes (initiative, judgement, and self-confidence)

    d.) courtesy (promptness, obedience, and
         respect for customs)

    e.) growth potential (capacity for responsibility,
         high productivity, adaptability to change,
         possession of the highest personal and
         ethical standards, and strong positive
         convictions)

Daedalian Award

Order of Daedalians

Presented annually to one outstanding cadet in the junior class who meets the following criteria:

1. ranks in the upper 10% of the AFJROTC
    junior class
2. ranks in the upper 20% of the school junior
    class
3. demonstrates an understanding and
    appreciation of patriotism, love of country, and
    service to the nation

4. indicates the potential and desire to pursue a
    military career

American Legion

Presented annually to one AS-III or AS-IV at each unit based on overall scholastic achievements who meets the following criteria:

1. ranks in the upper 10% of the high school class
2. ranks in the upper 25% of the Aerospace
    Science class

3. demonstrates leadership qualities
4. actively participates in constructive student
    activities

Presented annually to one AS-III or AS-IV at each unit based on general military excellence who meets the following criteria:

1. ranks in the upper 25% of the AFJROTC class
2. demonstrates outstanding qualities in military
    leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship

Daughters of the American Revolution

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

Presented annually to one AS-IV cadet at each unit who meets the following criteria:

1. ranks in the upper 25% of the Aerospace
    Science class and the high school class.

2. demonstrates qualities of dependability and
    good character, adherence to military discipline,
    leadership ability, and a fundamental and
    patriotic understanding of the importance of
    ROTC training.

American Veterans (AMVETS) Award

American Veterans (AMVETS)

Presented annually to one qualified cadet at each unit who meets the following criteria:

1. possesses a positive attitude toward Air Force     ROTC programs and service in the Air Force

2. exhibits excellence personal appearance (to
    include the wearing of the uniform, posture, and
    grooming)

3. possesses exceptional personal attributes
    (initiative, dependability, judgment, and
    self-confidence)

4. displays officer potential (capacity for
    responsibility, adaptability, and maintenance of
    high personal standards)

5. has obtained a grade of "A" in the Aerospace
    Science class

6. is in good standing in all scholastic grades at the
    time of selection

Presented annually for military and academic achievement to an outstanding AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. possesses a positive attitude toward the
   Aerospace Science curriculum

2. exhibits excellent personal appearance (wear of
    the uniform, posture, and grooming)

3. possesses exceptional personal attributes
    (initiative, judgement, and self-confidence)

4. displays courtesy (promptness, obedience, and
    respect)

5. has strong growth potential (capacity for
    responsibility, high productivity, adaptability to
    change, maintenance of the highest personal
    and ethical standards, and strong positive
    convictions

6. ranks in the top 10% of the AS-IV class

Presented annually to an AS-I cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. excels in all military and scholastic aspects at
    the time of selection and presentation of the
    award.

2. indicates by military and scholastic grades,
    extracurricular activities, and individual
    endeavors a desire to serve our nation.

3. has committed to continue the Aerospace
    Science program for the next school year.

The Retired Officers Association (TROA)

Presented annually to an outstanding AS-III  cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. is a member of the junior class

2. is in good academic standing
 
3. is of high moral character

4. shows a high order of loyalty to the unit, school,
    and country

5. shows exceptional potential for military
    leadership
 
 

Veterans Of Foreign Wars (VFW) Award

Veterans of Foreign Wars

Presented annually to an outstanding AS-III or AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. attains a grade of "B" or better in AFJROTC
    with an overall average of "C" or better in all
    subjects from the previous semester.

2. has a positive attitude towards AFJROTC

3. has outstanding military bearing and conduct

4. possesses strong positive personal attributes
    such as courtesy, dependability, punctuality,
    respect, and cooperation)

5. demonstrates patriotism (such as being a
    member of the color guard or drill team) and
    actively promotes Americanism

6. demonstrates leadership potential

7. is active in student activities

National Sojurners Award

National Sojourners, Inc.

Presented annually to an outstanding AS-II or AS-III  cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. ranks in the top 25% of the academic class

2. encourages and demonstrates ideals of
    Americanism both withing the cadet corp and
    on campus

3. demonstrates potential for outstanding
    leadership
 

Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Award

Sons of the American Revolution (SAR)

Presented annually to an AS-I cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. exhibits a high degree of  leadership

2. has outstanding military bearing

3. has excelled in all aspects of Aerospace
    Science studies
 

Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction Award

Presented annually to an outstanding second-year cadet in a 3-year program or third-year cadet in a 4-year program.

Each cadet must:
    Contribute the most to encourage Americanism
    by participation in extracurricular activities or
    community projects

    Demonstrate academic excellence by being in
    the top 25% of class

    Demonstrate the qualities of dependability,
    good character, self discipline, good citizenship
    and patriotism

    Not have been a previous recipient of this
    award

Military Order Of The Purple Heart Award

Order of the Purple Heart

Presented annually to an AS-III or AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. has a positive attitude toward AFJROTC and
    country

2. holds a leadership position in the cadet corp

3. is active in school and community affairs

4. attains a grade of "B" or better in all subjects
    for the previous semester

Air Force Sergeants Achievement Award

Presented annually to an AS-III or AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:

1. is in the top 25% of the AFJROTC class

2. demonstrates outstanding qualities in military
    leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship

Non Commissioned Officers Assoc. Award

This award annually recognizes the most outstanding cadet Noncommissioned Officer in the unit. Each cadet must consistently exhibit the best military bearing, personal appearance, deportment and leadership ability

Outstanding Cadet Ribbon

Presented annually to the outstanding AS-I, AS-II, AS-III, and AS-IV cadets. The recipient from each class must be of high moral character, demonstrate positive personal attributes, display outstanding military potential, and attain academic and military excellence.

Leadership Ribbon

Awarded for outstanding performance in a position of leadership as an AFJROTC cadet in corps training activities. It is limited to 5% of the corps annually.
 

Achievement Ribbon

Awarded for significant achievement as deemed appropriate by the ASI/AASI. It is limited to 5% of the cadet corps annually. Individuals may not receive more than one ribbon during a 1-year period.

Superior Performance Ribbon

Awarded annually for outstanding achievement or meritorous service rendered specifically on behalf of AFJROTC. It is presented for a single or sustained performance of a superior nature. It is limited to 10% of the cadet corps annually.

Commander's Unit Award

Awarded to cadets who were in the AFJROTC unit when it was named an "Commander's Unit" by Hq AFROTC

Vice Commander's Unit Award

Awarded to cadets who were in the AFJROTC unit when it was named an "Vice Commander's Unit" by Hq AFROTC

Academic Ribbon

Awarded for academic excellence as signified by attaining an overall grade point average of at least
a "B" and an "A" in AFJROTC for the current semester

Outstanding Flight Ribbon
 
Awarded to the members of the outstanding flight(s) as chosen by the ASI/AASI

Summer Leadership School Ribbon

Awarded for the completion of an approved summer leadership program of at least 5 days duration

Drill Competition Ribbon

Awarded to drill team members for "placing" in an Air Force or Joint Service drill meet.

Orienteering Competition Ribbon

Awarded to team members for "placing" in an orienteering meet

Activities Ribbon W/ Leadership Star

Awarded for leadership in an AFJROTC cocurricular activity

Drill Team Ribbon

Awarded for distinguished participation in at least 75% of all scheduled drill team event

Color Guard Ribbon

Awarded for distinguished participation in at least 75% of all scheduled color guard events

Sabre Team Ribbon

Awarded for distinguished participation in at least 75% of all scheduled sabre team events

Service Ribbon

Awarded to each cadet who performs at least 30 hours of documented community service

Longevity Ribbon

Awarded for the completion of each AS year.

Physical Fitness Ribbon

Awarded for sustained participation in school athletics, cheerleading, dance team, or the successful completion of the corps physical fitness test.

Recruiting Ribbon

Awarded for recruiting one new cadet into the AFJROTC program.

Activities Ribbon

Awarded for participation in at least 2 non-AFJROTC school cocurricular activities or clubs.

Attendance Ribbon

Awarded to cadets with no more than 4 excused absences and no unexcused absences in an academic term.

Good Conduct Ribbon

Awarded to cadets with no suspensions of any kind, no adverse reports from other staff or faculty in an academic term.

Dress And Appearance Ribbon

Awarded for wearing uniform on all designated uniform days and conforming with all AFJROTC dress and appearance standards. Limit this ribbon to 25% of the cadet corps.
