Air Force Associating Award (AFA)
Presented annually to the outstanding AS-III cadet in Air Force Junior ROTC who meets the following criteria :
1. ranks in the upper 5% in the Aerospace Science Class
2. ranks in the upper 10% of the academic class
3. is recommended by the ASI as the
"Outstanding
Aerospace Science Cadet" in the
class
4. possesses characteristics contributing to
leadership and future value in positions of
responsibility such as:
a.) positive attitude towards AFJROTC and
school

grooming)

Presented annually to an outstanding AS-III or AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:
1. attains a grade of "B" or better in AFJROTC

overall average of "C" or better in all
subjects from the
previous semester.

Presented annually to an outstanding second-year cadet in a 3-year program or
third-year cadet in a 4-year program.
Each cadet must:

the top 25% of class
Demonstrate the qualities of dependability,
good character, self discipline, good citizenship

Military Order Of The Purple Heart Award
Presented annually to an AS-III or AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:
1. has a positive attitude toward AFJROTC and

2. holds a leadership position in the cadet corp

4. attains a grade of "B" or better in all subjects
for the previous semester
Air Force Sergeants Achievement Award
Presented annually to an AS-III or AS-IV cadet who meets the following criteria:
1. is in the top 25% of the AFJROTC class
2. demonstrates outstanding qualities in military
leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship
Non Commissioned Officers Assoc. Award
This
award annually recognizes the most outstanding cadet Noncommissioned Officer in
the unit. Each cadet must consistently exhibit the best military bearing,
personal appearance, deportment and leadership ability
Presented annually to the outstanding AS-I, AS-II, AS-III, and AS-IV cadets. The recipient from each class must be of high moral character, demonstrate positive personal attributes, display outstanding military potential, and attain academic and military excellence.
Awarded for outstanding performance in a position of leadership as an AFJROTC
cadet in corps training activities. It is limited to 5% of the corps annually.
Awarded for significant achievement as deemed appropriate by the ASI/AASI. It is limited to 5% of the cadet corps annually. Individuals may not receive more than one ribbon during a 1-year period.
Awarded annually for outstanding achievement or meritorous service rendered specifically on behalf of AFJROTC. It is presented for a single or sustained performance of a superior nature. It is limited to 10% of the cadet corps annually.
Awarded to cadets who were in the AFJROTC unit when it was named an "Commander's Unit" by Hq AFROTC
Awarded to cadets who were in the AFJROTC unit when it was named an "Vice Commander's Unit" by Hq AFROTC
Awarded for academic excellence as signified by attaining an overall grade
point average of at least
a "B" and an "A" in AFJROTC for the current
semester
Outstanding Flight Ribbon
Awarded to the
members of the outstanding flight(s) as chosen by the ASI/AASI
Summer Leadership School Ribbon
Awarded for the completion of an approved summer leadership program of at least 5 days duration
Awarded to drill team members for "placing" in an Air Force or Joint Service
drill meet.
Orienteering Competition Ribbon
Awarded to team members for "placing" in an orienteering meet
Activities Ribbon W/ Leadership Star
Awarded for leadership in an AFJROTC cocurricular activity
Awarded for distinguished participation in at least 75% of all scheduled drill team event
Awarded for distinguished participation in at least 75% of all scheduled color guard events
Awarded for distinguished participation in at least 75% of all scheduled sabre team events
Awarded to each cadet who performs at least 30 hours of documented community service
Awarded for the completion of each AS year.
Awarded for sustained participation in school athletics, cheerleading, dance team, or the successful completion of the corps physical fitness test.
Awarded for recruiting one new cadet into the AFJROTC program.
Awarded for participation in at least 2 non-AFJROTC school cocurricular activities or clubs.
Awarded to cadets with no more than 4 excused absences and no unexcused absences in an academic term.
Awarded to cadets with no suspensions of any kind, no adverse reports from other staff or faculty in an academic term.
Awarded for wearing uniform on all designated uniform days and conforming with all AFJROTC dress and appearance standards. Limit this ribbon to 25% of the cadet corps.
