Diego Armando Maradona has been the greatest footballers in the history of soccer! The number one goal in the history of soccer was made by Maradona in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico against England, when he passed 5 English players and scored an amazing goal... which certainly made up for his notorious "Hand of God"goal he made earlier in the game. Born in the poor slums of Villa Fiorito on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Diego grew up with soccer. He started in Argentinos Juniors, then Boca Juniors and then went on to play for the national team. In 1984 he went to play for Napoli and won here two Italian championships in 86/87 and 89/90, a Coppa Italia (1987) and an Uefa cup (1989). In the rest of Italy he was hated and everybody was jealous of Napoli's victories. Unfortunately his fame and money got him involved with the wrong crowd and into trouble. In the World Cup of 1994 in the USA, Maradona was tested for drugs after a game against Nigeria and was found to have used drugs not permitted by FIFA. He was suspended from playing soccer for a year as punishment. Although Argentina came in with a strong team in the 1994 World Cup, everything went downhill after the scandal. I think that Maradona left an impressive soccer history. In my opinion, his talent and abilities have left many others envious of Napoli's and Argentina's successes.
