Data-Information; raw facts-can be input into a computer and processed in various ways. Information that is used to generate calculations or make decisions.

Default-the assumption a computer makes when no specific information is given.

Delete key-key which removes the text to the right of the cursor position.

Digitized effects-to change analog information into digital information that the computer can use to produce certain effects.  For example, when a picture is scanned, the picture mage is digitized.  This means that the picture image is converted to a digital or numerical format.

Disk (Diskette)-A floppy disk. A removable, portable magnetic disk on which data and programs can be stored.

Disk Drive-The disk drive where a floppy disk is inserted.

Document-anything produced in a word processing program.

Documentation-the instructions that tell how to use hardware or software.

Double click-To click a mouse button twice in rapid succession without moving the mouse

Double space (DS)-when keying text, the act of spacing text two lines apart.

Dot matrix printer-Has a print head that runs back and forth and prints by impact, striking an ink-soaked cloth ribbon against the paper, much like a typewriter.

Downloading-the process of transferring programs or information from one computer to another

Download-To retrieve a file from a message board or e-mail.
