Veterans and Memorial Day Poetry....
A SOLDIER PRAYS Oh Lord! Here we sit on this foreign soil, So very far from home and loved one all. Death so very near and we so very much afraid. Please help my comrades and I, For we wish not to die alone. We pray that you will be here, To hear our cry and us to your breast to take. You are the only living Lord, We give ourselves to you. If we must die, and die we must, Please take us home on high with you. With outstretched hands we grasp for thee, Thy love so tender and yet so strong. THE DAY OF DARKNESS

America is in shock today, for darkness and sorow has come our way. Bombings and attacks on innocent lives, protect us, Sweet Jesus, hear our cries.

Lives lost by actions we can't understand, in this type of confusion no on wins. this darkness has settled on our land, taken our landmarks, stolen our men.

The families that loast loves one today, take them in your hands, Dear God, we pray. The ones that surived the injuries sustained, Lord touch them now, please ease thier pain.

The lives lost were simply at work today, went to do thier job to work for pay. Left for work work this morning with a hug and kiss, from spouses and children now will be missed.

Husbands and wives won't be here to say, I love you sweatheart, have a good day. Mommies and Daddies won't be coming hom, children are left to grow up alone.

Childhood memories will not be told, from brother and sister will never come home. Terrorist have made thier presence known, by taking the lives on the young and old.

America is in shock today, for sorrow and darkness has come our way.
