| Background | In 2370 it was discovered that the molton core of the planet was cooling, causing severe seismic stress. The planet would be deemed uninhabitable within 13 months unless a highly experimental process was undertaken to restore the core. The Enterprise-D arrived to assist the Atrean scientists, and used it's phasers to drill into the crust and inject plasma into magma pockets to cause a chain reaction which in theory would re-liquify the core. |
