I am a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. As a member of this organization, I help with our philanthropy, which happens to be supporting children with cancer. We raise money and have events to support such organizations as St. Jude's hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Since 1974, Tri Deltas have raised more than $10 million in support of children's cancer hospitals, research facilities, and cancer camps. The Tri Delta fraternity signed a partnership with St. Jude's to build a teen's only play room in September 2002. We have promised to raise $1 million dollars by September 2006 and are currently at $450,000. The teen room is designed for children above the age 13. You can go in the room to get away from your parents, doctors, nurses, anything and everything. You are free to be independent and be alone. The only adults allowed in the room are volunteer's and your child life specialist. As a member of the Phi Nu chapter we do many events in order to raise money.
