the Author:
Ken Woodard took his first flying lesson before entering World War
II. He holds a Bachelors Degree in
Aeronautical Engineering from Tri-State
College and a Masters Degree in
Aerospace Engineering from Boston
University. Mr. Woodard has been employed as a design
engineer, stress analyst, structures engineer, aerodynamicist and staff
engineer for such companies as Sikorsky, Cessna, Schweizer,
Comprehensive Designers at Cornell Aero Labs and Beech Aircraft, MIT Lincoln
Labs, and Hamilton Standard Propellers.
Most recently, he was an Associate Professor of Engineering and the
Director of Aviation Technology at Northeastern
University. Professor Woodard is a rated airplane and
glider pilot and also holds an FAA advanced and instrument ground instructor
rating. He is now retired and enjoying
flying sailplanes.
