Columbia Space Shuttle Tragedy |

As most of you know, I go to school in Nacogdoches, Tx right around where all the debris has been falling. Early this morning I was outside walking my dog and my boyfriend's dog and I heard a loud thunderous noise. The dogs both took off running and it scared the crap outta me also.. I looked up and there was a huge white trail across the sky. I didnt know at the time that it was shuttle debris. Later in the morning I noticed all the helicopters flying around but still had no idea they were looking for debris. I didn't end up finding out about the shuttle tragedy until later that afternoon. (I never watch the news and had been sleeping all morning). But as soon as I found out, my roommate and I drove around town to take pictures of all the debris. I didn't realize exactly how upsetting it would be to actually encounter parts of the space shuttle. Once I saw the debris I started bawling... because it's then that it hit me that there were people IN that shuttle.. and that many lives were lost. I thought I'd put the pictures up so ya'll could see what I've been seeing. |

Here is a pic of the larger piece of debris that fell around downtown Nac. It's between the flag pole and the kid on the right. This was taken as we first walked up to it and is the first piece of debris we saw. Its around this time that I broke down and started bawling. |
