TRAINING REMOTE

   Manufacturer: Industrial Automaton
   Owner: Various
   Uses: Training droid
   Features: Stun blasters
   Debut: A New Hope

There's never a violent, deadly Sith around when you need one...when
Jedi have no sentient sparring partners, they turn instead to droids, such as warrior droids for lightsaber combat, or training remotes for enhancing their skills against blaster-wielding foe.
Small, compact devices, training remotes are simple drroids without independant initiative used not only by Jedi, but also by gunslingers wishing to perfect their sharpshooting skills. Remotes hover above the ground, and deliver weak laser shots which the trainee must dodge - or deflect in the case of a Jedi. The droids are also equipped with an array of sensors, and houses dozens of combat drills within its computer systems. As training sessions intensify, the remote begins to move more quickly and attack with more intense bursts of energy. In the most extreme cases, the remote's stun blasts can render the trainee unconscious.
Training remotes were used by the Jedi Order to train up their
Youngling clans, though they were often used by fully-fledged Jedi wishing to hone their skills further. Other remotes have also been used as spies, and even assassin droids; the Empire used modified remotes to track down and kill Imperial enemies during the Galactic Civil War.
