KEN STREMSKY DISCUSSES HIS PROFILE AND OTHER TOPICS Thank you very much to the people who voted for me in the Republican United States Senate primary on September 10, 2002. I am pleasantly surprised I received more than 100 votes. I hope people will show their patriotism by voting in November. I hope the New Hampshire media will do a far better job covering little known candidates for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor than the New Hampshire media covered my campaign. The New Hampshire media did a disservice to the people of New Hampshire by not telling them they had a real choice on September 10. Hopefully, WMUR-TV will allow all candidates for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor to participate in televised debates. Hopefully, WMUR-TV will interview all candidates on television who are running for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor. Hopefully, newspapers will ask all candidates for United States Senate, United States House Of Representatives, and Governor questions when they ask a frontrunner questions and post the answers in newspapers and on their websites. Hopefully, newspapers will post transcripts of debates for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor on their websites. Our citizens will not keep their freedoms if the press does not do a lot better job covering campaigns. I have long believed in a saying dealing with leadership which is something like the following. If I am not willing to provide leadership, I should not expect anyone else to provide leadership. If I do not provide leadership now, I might never provide leadership. I hope people will volunteer to fulfill the petition requirements in their states Presidential primaries. If my name is not on their states Republican Presidential primary ballots, I hope they will write in my name. I do not want New Hampshire voters to vote for in Presidential primaries. I had Meet the Candidate events in the Auditorium of the Manchester City Library located at 405 Pine Street Manchester, New Hampshire 03104 between 12 and 3pm on Thursday June 20, 2002 Thursday July 25, 2002 Thursday August 29, 2002 Thursday September 5 Saturday October 12 Saturday November 2 I held a Meet The Candidate event at the Concord Public Library on Saturday June 29, 2002 and no one came. No one has come to any of my events so far. I do not recommend holding events during the day during the week. The Nashua Public Library infringes on freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and the ability of people to petition the government for a redress of grievances because it bans Meet the Candidate events. The Nashua Public Library is a government institution and it is breaking the law. I will not be surprised if candidates in the future who do not like the Nashua Public Library as much as I do decide to sue the Nashua Public Library and the City of Nashua. The Nashua Public Library was one of my favorite places to go to when I lived in Nashua. I have a small scar on my hand from helping put up a movie screen for Plaza Pics that reminds me of the good times I had at the library. I hope the library will stop banning the most important type of speech there is which is political speech. I am the man I am today because of the City of Nashua and it angers me that a city I love is allowing this to happen. INTRODUCTION I ran for President of the United States of America in 2004 to get the issues discussed especially the Bill of Rights. I am a Republican because I believe the best form of government is a Republic that allows its people to elect their leaders. I was born on January 13, 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts. I will be 35 years old on January 20, 2005. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1992 with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Economics. I graduated from Nashua High School in 1988. I have lived in New Hampshire for more than twenty years. I experienced significant technical difficulties with my website on August 30, 2002 on pages one and three. SOME OF THE REASONS WHY PEOPLE SHOULD VOTE FOR ME One. I am better defined than my opponents. I have told people more about myself on my website than I think any other candidate has ever discussed himself/herself on a website. Two. I discuss more issues on my website than most candidates discuss on their websites. I realize that in modern American politics the candidate who talks about the least number of issues usually wins. Three. I discuss more logical solutions to the problems facing our state and country than most candidates place on their websites. Four. I have voted for Democrats and Republicans. I have voted for men and women. I am able to reach agreements with men and women when that is the right thing to do. I have a great backbone and I am willing to stand my ground and push men and women back when I am right. Five. I can not be bullied by anyone or any company. I have never been and will never be a puppet of the credit card industry. I have never been and will never be a puppet of the oil industry. Six. My policies are the policies most likely to increase the usage of public transportation provided by buses and trains. Seven. My policies are the policies most likely to improve Homeland Security and National Security. MY PROFILE I am a moderate and an independent thinker. I strongly support individual Liberty and limited government. I strongly support government regulation, strong safety nets, education, and national defense. I strongly support separation of powers and checks and balances. My policies reduce our country's dependence on oil and clean up our environment. The book that has had the most significant impact on my political philosophy is The Second Treatise of Government by John Locke. I decided to run for elective office during Iran Contra because a secret government endangered our Republic. I hope that most people will someday realize that Iran Contra was far worse than Watergate ever was. I started thinking about running for elective office during the Iranian Hostage Crisis in the late 1970s. Before Iran Contra, I had decided that I would probably never run for elective office because I was very introverted at the time. During Iran Contra, I asked myself if I was willing to die for the Republic of the United States of America especially its Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. I decided that I was. I knew that Robert F. Kennedy, President John F. Kennedy, and President Abraham Lincoln had been assasinated. After reading The Art of War by Sun Tzu at the University of New Hampshire, I realized that the best defense against attacks was to attack some of my faults and some of my ethical lapses in judgement. While at the University of New Hampshire, I read the Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi and The Prince by Machiavelli. I do not recall knowing about Machiavelli's Discourses which discusses Republics before this year. OLIVER WENDELL HOLMES QUOTE The following quote from Oliver Wendell Holmes comes from page D8 of the August 10, 2002 Union Leader. "A man may fulfill the object of his existence by asking a question he cannot answer and attempting a task he cannot achieve." I do not know all the answers. I do not know all the questions. Running for elective office is more of an educational experience for me than it is for American voters and I realize it is very doubtful that I will win elective office in 2002 and/or 2004. I also realize that I may never win elective office. I am trying to provide our country with the best leadership I am able to provide. I am trying to inspire citizens of our Republic to vote and fulfill the other responsibilities that citizens of our Republic have including running for elective office. I am trying to make it easier for decent, competent people to win elective office. I value negative feedback and positive feedback that is e-mailed to me. Few people who have ever lived value freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, and the ability to petition the government for redress of grievances as much as I do. FEDERAL LAW AND STATE LAW Article Six of the United States Constitution says "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary not withstanding." Federal laws and federal regulations may supersede state laws and state regulations because of Article Six of the United States Constitution. I e-mailed the following to Richard E. I am very glad that Henri-Paul Bolineau asked the question about the Federal Government using extortion to reduce blood alcohol limits. I enjoyed your answer to his question. A friend of mine was murdered by a drunk driver in 1980. I hope State Legislatures will voluntarilly reduce their blood alcohol limits and increase their drunk driving penalties. I do not believe the Federal Government should use extortion to bring this about. Threatening to withhold Federal funds if a law is not passed or a regulation not adopted is a form of extortion. I also think it does infringe on Amendment Ten. Because of Amendment Ten, the Federal Government may not force a State to do something the Constitution itself does not say a state must do. Because of Amendment Ten, a State may not be kept from doing something the Constitution itself does not prohibit. I do not believe Amendment Ten keeps the Federal Government from doing things not prohibited by the Constitution. I should have been more clear when I discussed the supremacy clause in Article Six. Congress does not have the power to force a State to adopt a one strike your out law dealing with a violent crime. Because federal law supersedes state law, if a person is arrested for a violent crime by State police federal prosecutors may have the person tried in a federal court instead of a state court if Congress adopted a one strike your out law. If the FBI arrested someone for a violent crime and State law in the State the crime was committed is tougher, the person could be tried in a State court if federal prosecutors want this to be the case. I do not believe Amendment Ten does enough to protect State rights. I believe the balance of power between States and the Federal Government has shifted too much in the favor of the Federal Government since State Legislatures stopped choosing Senators. I am glad voters are allowed to choose Senators. I am not happy that the balance of power has shifted so much in favor of the Federal Government. I believe the following amendments to the United States Constitution will shift more power to the State Legislatures and decrease the probability that the Federal Government will use extortion. I also believe the amendments will decrease the probability that the Federal Government will pass unfunded mandates that States and Localities have to act on. An amendment to the United States Constitution should be passed that says when at least 70 percent of the State Legislatures of the United States of America vote for the repeal of treaties, laws, and regulations, they should be repealed. When at least 70 percent of the United States Senate votes to overturn a repeal, the repeal shall be overturned. An amendment to the United States Constitution should be passed that says that when at least 80 percent of the State Legislatures of the United States of America vote for the removal of the President of the United States of America, the President of the United States of America shall be removed from office two weeks later. The decision shall be overturned when at least 70 percent of the United States Senate votes to repeal the decision. The United States Senate should have to vote on overturning the decision within two weeks after the State Legislatures of the United States of America have voted for the removal of the President of the United States of America. Giving State Legislatures the power to repeal treaties, laws, and regulations will shift the balance of power between the State Legislatures and the Federal Government more to the State Legislatures. Unfunded federal mandates may be passed less often by Congress and/or executive branch departments. Trade agreements the State Legislatures do not like may often be repealed. People who have a problem with this amendment should remember that United States Senators used to be picked by State Legislatures and not by the voters. I am glad that Senators are picked by voters. Amendment Seventeen passed by Congress on May 13, 1912 and ratified on April 8, 1913 allows voters to elect United States Senators. Giving State Legislatures the power to remove a President of the United States of America from office may encourage future Presidents of the United States of America to behave better in office than some of our past Presidents of the United States of America have behaved. Allowing State Legislatures to repeal treaties, laws, and regulations may decrease the probability that the Federal Government will infringe on the civil liberties of our citizens guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. The Federal Government has infringed on the Bill of Rights while it has waged the War on Drugs and the War on Terrorism. The Federal Government has infringed on Amendment Four, Amendment Five, and Amendment Eight of the United States Constitution while waging the War on Drugs. The Federal Government has infringed on Amendment Six of the United States Constitution during the War on Terrorism. Congress passed the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Law which infringes on political speech guaranteed by Amendment One of the United States Constitution. THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND AMENDMENT ONE OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION Amendment One of the United States Constitution says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Judges may not tell students they may not say the Pledge of Allegiance with the words "under God" in it because that prohibits their "free exercise" of religion. Judges may not say that students may not include the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance because that infringes on freedom of speech. Students may not be required to say the Pledge of Allegiance that includes the words "under God" in it because that creates "an establishment of religion." Students may not be required to say the Pledge of Allegiance because their freedom of speech right is abridged when the students are forced to speak. Governments do not have the power to tell students they may not have voluntary school prayer in public schools because that infringes on freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Governments may not say that public money may not go to private religious schools because the government establishes a religion called atheism when the government says only non religious schools may obtain money. Should government include under God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Do not know. Does government establish religion? Maybe. Should government have In God We Trust on coinage. Do not know. Does government establish religion? Maybe. EDUCATION I want the Federal Government to create federal government websites which will be free to use by anyone in the world who has internet access that will teach k-12 subjects, college subjects, and graduate school subjects. I want the Federal Government to allows individuals/families to be allowed to deduct the full cost of yearly k-12 educations, college educations, and graduate educations from their taxes. BAYH-DOLE AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS Bayh-Dole has been the Law of the Land for many years. Bayh-Dole allows the Federal Government to license patents of drugs based on federal government research to other companies. The more companies that make the same drug the lower the price of the drug will probably be. You may read Bayh-Dole by going to Duke University's website which is http://www.duke.edu. You need to type Bayh-Dole in the search engine. MEDICARE AND A NATIONAL HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION I want Medicare to have a prescription drug benefit. I want Medicare to be similar to the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program which is discussed on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management website which is http://www.opm.gov/insure/health/index.htm I want Congress to create a National Health Maintenance Organization that will be similar to the Federal Employees Health Benefits program. Individuals and groups should be able to buy plans from the National Health Maintenance Organization. For profit insurers and non profit insurers should be allowed to compete against the National Health Maintenance Organization. I want Congress to pass a law that says that an individual/family should be allowed to deduct the full cost of yearly health care expenses from their federal taxes. SOCIAL SECURITY I will try to make Social Security solvent by pushing for a law to be passed that says that the social security tax should be placed on all wages a person makes in a year and not just the first $84,900. I discuss Social Security in great detail on page thirteen of my website. I will try to get a law passed that says that the first $20,000 a year a person makes from wages should not have a social security tax greater than three percent. I want the social security tax to be five percent on wages above $20,000.01. The social security tax is currently 6.2 percent and it is the highest federal tax that people who make under $20,000 a year pay. SUPERFUND TAX Congress should place a one percent Superfund tax on the yearly incomes of individuals greater than $100,000.01 to help the Federal Government cleanup Superfund sites, dispose of hazardous wastes, nuclear wastes, and other types of waste. Congress should place a two percent Superfund tax on the yearly profits of businesses greater than $10,000,000.01. The Superfund tax should not be placed on interest from savings accounts, dividends, and capital gains. ABORTION I am pro-choice on abortion because I believe in individual Liberty and limited government. You may read many of views on abortion on page 11 of my website which is http://www.geocities.com/kstremsky/page11.html One of the main reasons why women have a right to have abortions is Amendment Nine of the United States Constitution which says "The enumeration in the Constitution, of ceratin rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." I think abortion is murder when the health of the mother is not harmed significantly by pregnancy because I believe life starts at conception and that humans ahave souls and feelings starting with conception. I want abortion to stay legal because I believe in individual Liberty and limited government which means limits on the ability of government to infringe on civil liberties. TORT REFORM I do not support making the loser of a lawsuit pay the legal fees of the winner of a lawsuit because I believe this would endanger public safety and increase corporate malfeasance. Amendment Eight of the United States Constitution says "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." Congress should pass a law that says that medical malpractice awards, pharmaceutical liability awards, automobile insurance awards, and other awards may not be greater than an amount Congress sets because of Amendment Eight. The United States Supreme Court has the ability to judge (determine) that medical malpractice awards, pharmaceuitcal liability awards, automobile insurance awards, and other damage awards may not be greater than an amount the United States Supreme Court sets because of Article Three of the United States Constitution and Amendment Eight. If medical malpractice awards are capped, more insurance companies may decide to sell medical malpractice insurance and they might charge lower prices for medical malpractice insurance. If pharmaceutical liability awards are capped, more pharmaceutical companies may decide to sell drugs in our country that have been proven safe in other countries. Our country has fewer birth control methods than many other countries and does not have as many vaccines as our country should have because pharmaceuitcal liability awards are not capped. If automobile insurance awards are capped, automobile insurance companies might sell more policies and premiums might decrease. ROLE OF GOVERNMENT I do not believe in weak government. I believe in strong government. I support the preamble of the United States Constitution which says the Federal Government is supposed to "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity." TERRORISM IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE Citizens of the United States of America who are called enemy combatants are protected by Amendment Six of the United States Constitution which says "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witness in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence." Article One, Section Eight gives Congress and not the President of the United States of America the power to create military tribunals. Article One, Section Eight gives Congress and not the President of the United States of America the power to punish terrorists because Article One, Section Eight says Congress has the power "To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court; To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations; To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water; To make Rules for the Government amd Regulation of the land and naval Forces" Article Two of the United States Constitution says the President of the United States of America is the "Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States" Congress may limit the President of the United States of America's ability to wage War because of Article One, Section Eight. Congress has not been fulfilling its Article One, Section Eight responsibilities as well as Congress should. PRESIDENTIAL OATH OF OFFICE Article Two of the United States Constitution says the following "Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." President Bush should be removed from office by Congress because he has not kept his oath because his administration on his orders has infringed on Amendment Six of the United States Constitution. Article Two, Section Four says "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." A President of the United States of America who orders his/her administration to infringe on the Amendment Six rights of a citizen of the United States of America has committed a high Crime. MAIN REASONS I AM PROVIDING NEGATIVE INFORMATION One. I believe voters have a right to know the major events that have shaped a candidate's life as well as a candidate's faults before primary election day. Two. Voters are not likely to vote for someone who questions the ethics and leadership ability of others when the person has not first discussed their ethics and leadership ability. Three. A candidate who does not define himself/herself well will be defined in a way the candidate does not like by the competition. Four. The media is more likely to do a story about a candidate when the candidate is willing to provide negative information about the candidate. I realize that candidates and the media have a symbiotic relationship. I realize that the more media attention I get the more likely I am to win. Negative media attention is as valuable as positive media attention when the information is truthful. Five. People are more likely to visit the website of a candidate who discusses his/her faults than a person who does not. People are more likely to view pictures of a train wreck than pictures of a train safely stopped. Six. I want people to learn from my mistakes. I CHEATED ON A TEST IN HIGH SCHOOL BECAUSE I LOST MY TEMPER When I was 16 years old in 1986, I cheated on an Anatomy and Physiology makeup exam at Nashua Senior High School in Nashua, New Hampshire. I need to take a makeup exam because I got very sick going on a field trip to a hospital for the class. I lost my temper because a diagram of the eye was a significant portion of the grade on the test. I could not remember the diagram of the eye. I cheated because I lost my temper. I should have not cheated on the test. The teacher had said the diagram of the eye might be on the test. I hand delivered a type written note that said I cheated on the test to the Superintendent of Schools office in Nashua, NH in 1992 because I could not deal with the guilt anymore. The Superintendent wrote me back. I do not think I have a copy of my typewritten note. I do not think I have the Superintendent's letter to me. The media also has my permission to print my note and the Superintendent's note. I think the Superintendent was Bernard Masse. I am not positive. I HAVE BOUGHT X-RATED TAPES I have bought Playboys, Penthouses, Barely Legals, and other magazines with nude women in them. I have bought X-Rated tapes. When I was 12 years old, I got kicked out of a store after looking at pictures of nude women in magazines after being told not to. When I was 18 years old and a freshman at UNH, I put up several nude pictures of women from Playboy on my dorm wall. I took the pictures down after a woman who worked as a smoke alarm inspector came into my room when I was not there. I have been in awe of the nude adult woman art form since I was a child when I used to look at paintings, pictures, and drawings of women in magazines and books. I have been drawing pictures of nude women, cars, planes, houses, and landscapes since I was a child. I gained my artistic ability from my grandmother. I also gained my love of war movies, politics, and an appreciation of social safety nets from my grandmother. We used to discuss politics a lot. I may pose for a nude adult art class at a college in the future. I have been taking pictures of nature since I was a child. I have never taken a picture of a nude human. I DRANK ALCOHOL BEFORE I WAS 21 YEARS OLD I started drinking alcohol when I was 10 years old. I drank alcohol occasionally till I turned 18 years old. I did not drink any alcohol between 18 and 21. I drank alcohol occasionally between 21 and 27. I have not drunk any alcohol since I turned 27 because of the prescription drugs I take. I started drinking alcohol when I was 10 years old because I knew that teenagers in Europe have been drinking alcohol for centuries and I wanted to be like them. I RECEIVED SEVERAL GRADES IN THE D RANGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRE I graduated with a 2.47 G.P.A. from the University of New Hampshire. I have mailed copies of my UNH transcript and Nashua High School transcript to several newspapers and television stations. They may post the information on the internet if they want.
