LIBRARIES I have long thought that the better libraries and the more libraries a nation has the better educated it will be, the more technologically advanced it will be, the more upwardly mobile it will be, and the better able it will be to solve its problems. Children who grow up going to libraries are more likely to become educated adults who have the creativity to produce innovations and solve problems. There is something that we can as a society do about this issue. Money can be donated by individuals and businesses. I mailed a donation on April 17, 2001 to Director John Brisbin Manchester City Library Carpenter Memorial Building 405 Pine Street Manchester, NH 03104 The website for the Manchester City Library is www.manchester.lib.nh.us I am hoping that many companies will match employee contributions up to X dollar amounts. I am hoping that libraries will be open on Sundays. A friend mentioned to me that story telling could be held on Sundays. Children's authors and other authors could discuss books on Sundays. Professors could have symposiums at libraries on Sundays. Volunteer tutoring and volunteer mentoring could take place on Sundays. I hope that our nation's children will be taught phonics and a love of reading in our schools and in our homes. Libraries should have a large budget for fiction and non fiction books. Libraries might want to have a large selection of high school textbooks and college textbooks. I hope that libraries will have more computers and high speed internet access. Hopefully, companies will be willing to donate computers and high speed internet access. Libraries might want to have educational DVDs for k-12 subjects, college subjects, and graduate school subjects. Individuals and businesses should be allowed to deduct the full cost of contributions to public libraries from their federal taxes. GIFT CERTIFICATES The New Hampshire Department of Justice website located at http://www.state.nh.us/nhdoj in its Consumer Protection section has an article with the title "Attorney General Issues Shopping Safeguards for Holdiday Buying" dated November 21, 2000. Many people have told me that many businesses in New Hampshire are breaking the law this article discusses. PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNT PROGRAMS You may find information about prescription drug discount programs that prescription drug manufacturers offer by going to http://www.rxassist.org. BUSES I hope people will write to Vermont Transit and ask them to offer bus service from Manchester to Nashua at 8 am, 9 am, and 10 am as well as bus service from Nashua to Manchester at 8pm. I hope people will write to Concord Trailways and ask them to offer bus service from Manchester to Portsmouth and Portsmouth to Manchester. I think it is crazy that a person has to go from Manchester to Boston and then Boston to Portsmouth if the person wants to get from Manchester to Bus by bus currently. I also hope there will be bus service between Manchester and Durham and Durham and Manchester. I think the Federal Government should encourage people to use buses and trains by allowing them to deduct the full cost of using buses and trains from their federal taxes. PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY BALLOTS AND OTHER BALLOTS I do not think people should have to pay any filing fees or meet any petition requirements to get their names on Presidential primary ballots, United States Senate ballots, United States House of Representatives ballots, and Governor ballots. I believe the Federal Government should pay the states for the printing of these ballots. I believe the Federal Government should allow people to contribute money to a tax deductible campaign fund that will help candidates for the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives run for elective office when they agree to spend less than one million dollars on a primary election or a general election. Congress might want the limit to be 10 million dollars instead of one million dollars. I believe the campaign fund should help Presidential candidates who agree not to spend more than twenty million dollars on primary elections. Congress might want the limit to be 50 million dollars. I also hope newspapers, magazines, and television stations will provide a lot more free advertising to candidates than they do not. If the media does not provide more free advertising, the media may some day not be protected by Amendment One of the United States Constiution. The media's love for profit sometimes hurts the media in the long run. DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES Downtown businesses would probably have greater sales and profits if Manchester, New Hampshire has evening bus service. Manchester businesses would probably have greater sales and profits if parking meters are eliminated on Elm Street. The sales and profits of many downtown businesses would probably increase if a large supermarket and movie theatre operate on Elm Street. BOUNCED CHECK FEES Congress should pass a law which says that banks and other financial institutions may not charge consumers who deposit checks and/or money orders bounced check fees. Banks and other financial institutions should only be able to charge bounced check fees to people who write bounced checks and/or bounced money orders. A bounced check fee for a check or money order should not be greater than $10 per check or money order. AMENDMENT ONE AND STATE CONSTITUTIONS State governments and local governments may not abridge the "freedom of speech." State governments and local governments may not abridge "freedom of the press." State governments and local governments may not restrict the "right of the people peaceably to assemble." State governments and local governments may not restrict the "right of the people" "to petition Government for a redress of grievances." State governments and local governments may not establish religion. State governments and local governments may not prohibit the free exercise of religion. State governments and local governments may no say that only atheist public schools may get public money because that establishes atheism as a religion. If a state government gives public money to an atheist school, the state government has to give public money to religious schools that meet the reasonable standards the state government sets. If a local government gives public money to an atheist public school, it has to give money to religious schools that meet the reasonable standards set by the state government. SOME OF THE REASONS WHY I LIKE AMENDMENT ONE OF THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION Political speech I hate is as strongly protected as political speech I love. The non violent protests of people I think are brain dead morons are as protected as the non violent protests of people I highly regard. People who practice religious beliefs that make no sense to me have the same religious freedom as people who have religious beliefs that make a lot of sense to me. The freedom of reporters I dislike intensely is protected as strongly as the freedom of reporters I highly regard. RELIGIOUS WARS Religious wars have been a part of human history for more than a thousand years. During the Roman Empire, Christians were murdered. During the Crusades, Christians and Muslims killed each other. During the Spanish Inquisition, Jews were put to death because they were Jews. During the Holocaust, millions of Jews and non Jews were murdered. Catholics and Protestants have been killing each other in Northern Ireland for many years. India and Pakistan hate each other a lot and the inability of each country to stop hating each other for religious reasons is part of the problem. Our government should not favor one religion over another religion. Our country should not prohibit the free exercise of religion. EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION AND TAXES PLACED ON BUSINESSES Congress may want to pass a law that says that a business should not be allowed to deduct from profits the pay of any employee who makes more than $1,000,000 a year. It ticks me off when executives who make millions of dollars a year when their companies are doing badly complain about increasing the minimum wage. If companies that think its a good idea to give millions of dollars to any employee when the company is doing badly, reduced the pay of top executives and increased pay of non management employees and management employees who do not make much money the companies might start doing better again. It would be nice if more members of corporate boards have a lot more common sense and value a lot more the employees who deal with the customers the most. I do not have a problem with an executive making more than a hundred million dollars in a year if the executive has earned the money. U.S. ENRICHMENT CORP The May 27, 2002 Forbes on page 54 has an interesting article with the title "Nukes for Sale: It was lunacy to privatize the U.S. agency that processes uranium for bombs" written by Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz of Columbia University who was a 2001 Nobel Winner in Economics and Christopher Helman. The following are excerpts from the article. "SEPT. 11 BROUGHT HOME THE DANGERS OF TERRORISM. BUT YEARS before that, during the mid - 1990s, a decision was made that worsened the risk of nuclear terrorism today: The government privatized the U.S. Enrichment Corp., commonly known as USEC." I think we should renationalize USEC. CONGRESS AND MICROSOFT Congress has the power to break Microsoft into two of more companies because Congress has the ability to regulate commerce. Congress should brake Microsoft into at least two companies. One or more companies would make operating systems. One of more companies would be software developing companies. A former Microsoft operating system company should have to allow any software developing company who wants to make software to be used on the operating system to see what a new operating system will do when a former Microsoft software developing company does. The former Microsoft developing companies should have to make software to be used on Apple's operating systems as well as software to be use with Linux operating systems. Bill Gates and other Microsoft shareholders should be allowed to own stock in the companies. Bill Gates and other Microsoft employees should not be allowed to have voting rights in more than one former Microsoft company. I think our country will have more software innovation and operating systems will be more user friendly, have fewer bugs, and not be as easily attacked by viruses. Microsoft monopoly type power has harmed our country's competiveness by lessening innovation in operating systems and software development. I believe Microsoft has used its monopoly type power to unfairly compete against innovators. Microsoft harmed Netscape by including a browser similar to the one Netscape created for free with the Microsoft operating system thereby lessening innovation by Netcape and telling other companies that if they have great ideas Microsoft will probably give those ideas away to free to its users. Why would any company want to innovate when it knows that the Federal Government will allow a company with monopoly type power to competer unfairly by giving away for free innovations they spent a lot of money creating. Speech recognition, hand writing recognition, touch screen recognition, and other types of software would probably be far more advanced if Microsoft's business practices were not harmful to the economy. It is too bad that Xerox did not license its patents and enforce its patents dealing with personal computer operating systems the way it should have. Operating systems and software development have not progressed much since the day Steve Jobs saw what Xerox was doing more than ten years ago because Microsoft has stifled innovation with the monopoly power IBM stupidly handed to Microsoft on a silver platter. SATELLITE TELEVISION PROVIDERS AND CABLE TELEVISION PROVIDERS EchoStar Communications Corp. and other satellite television providers should be allowed to broadcast any local, over - the - air televsion station to any part of the country its subscribers want. Satellite television providers should not be forced to just broadcast to that local channels market. Cable television providers should be allowed to broadcast any local, over - the - air television station to any part of the country its subscribers want. The Federal Government harms the ability of people in different parts of the country to view another part of the country's local news and other programs when it does not allow satellite television providers to broadcast channels anywhere subscribers want. I also believe that limiting the broadcasting of local, over - the - air television broadcasts infringes on Amendment One of the United States Constitution which gives people the ability "to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." People have a hard time finding out about grievances when the government limits the ability of the people to find out what is going on in the country. I also believe that satellite television providers are a part of the press and keeping them from broadcasting local channels outside of local markets infringes on Amendment One of the United States Constitution which says that freedom of the press will not be abridged. NUDE PICTURES IN MAGAZINES, MAGAZINES, VIDEOS, AND OTHER PLACES Congress should pass a law which says magazines, newspapers, video producers, and other places especially the internet should only be allowed to post nude pictures of person within one year of obtaining written permission from the person to post in their magazines, newspapers, videos, and other places. The agreement to post the picture(s) must say in writing in which magazine, newspaper, video, and/or other place picture may be shown. The agreement that says pictures may be posted anywhere should be illegal. Congress should pass a law which says that if magazines, newspapers, video producers, and other places especially the Internet want to post pictures that are more than one year they need to obtain written permission of the person again. The agreement that says pictures may be posted must say in writing which magazines, newspapers, videos, and other places will be shown. People whose nude pictures are posted without their written permission should be allowed to sue for defamation of character and be allowed to sue for millions of dollars. I have bought nude magazines that have pictures of women in them. I also have bought X - rated tapes. INVASION OF PRIVACY BY THE MEDIA I do not believe that Amendment One of the United States Constitution which says the freedom of the press shall not be abridged allows the press to invade the privacy of elected officials, candidates for elective office, and other people. I believe the press should need to obtain written permission from a person before the press may disclose information about a person's sexual orientation and a person's consensual sex life with others who are at least 18 years old when the person has not lied about the person's sex life. I believe the press should need to obtain written permission from a person before the press may disclose health related information about the person when the person has not lied about the person's health. A person should be allowed to sue the press for libel if the press discusses the previous topics without the person's written permission when the person has not lied about that particular topic for millions of dollars. WORKER BACKGROUND CHECKS The May 21, 2002 USA Today on page A1 has an article with the title "Worker background checks raise privacy concerns: Security push opens the door" written by Stephanie Armour. Congress may want to pass a law which says that employers may not view "credit reports, civil court records, driving records", and "workers' compensation claims" more than ten years old of current employees and potential employees. Congress may want to pass a law which says that employers may view the criminal records of current employees and potential employees as far back as the employers want to go. Limiting how far back employers may view criminal records may endanger employee and children. SOLIDIFIED NATURAL GAS An article with the title "Fire and Ice: Gas trapped in a frigid solid could fuel the world for centuries. The challenge is unlocking it" written by Thomas Hayden is located on www.usnews.com. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION The Department of Transportation should not be in charge of airport and airline security. A Department of Homeland Security should be in charge of airport and airline security. The Department of Homeland Security should work with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on airline maintenance. The budget for the Federal Aviation Administration should be increased, more air traffic controllers should be hired, more air traffic control towers should be built, and new computers and software should continually be bought. A while ago I think I read many of the computers the FAA uses are several decades old. The FAA's computers and air traffic control systems should be at least as good as the ones that the Air Force and the Navy have. If our country has more air traffic controllers and air traffic towers, people may get to destinations faster and safer. I do want a Department of Homeland Security to hire at least ten thousand sky marshalls who will fly mostly on large planes. The Federal Aviation Administration and a Department of Homeland Security should hire El Al which is the safest airline I have ever heard of to help our domestic airlines and domestic airports improve safety. DEFENSE CONTRACTORS AND THE FEDERAL GOVERMENT The Federal Government should setup an independent commission that will include current and former members of Congress, current and former members of the United States military, college professors, and employees of FedEX, UPS, and several other companies to help defense contractors and the Federal Government improve defense procurement. Defense contractors need to be able to make decent profist and the Federal Government needs to get the most value for its tax dollars. May times I think the Federal Government has hurt itself by constantly changing the requirements of a military project it has ordered. In the future, the Federal Government may want to do the following. Federal Government orders 100 planes with particular specifications. Only after those 100 planes are built does the Federal Government say it wants the next 100 planes to meet different specifications. I think we will get planes faster if the Federal Government does this. I also think more companies will be interested in selling products to the United States military. If more companies want to sell products to the United States military, innovation may be increased, prices for military items may be decreased, and research budgets may be increased. I hope that military research that has civilian uses will be turned into non defense products that do not endanger national security. A SHORT COURSE ON HUMAN BIOLOGY Humans have DNA. Humans get DNA from both their parents. Human DNA determines hair color, eye color, sex of human, height, basic body frame, and other things. I also think DNA has an impact on a person's sexual orientation. I think DNA determines a person's sexual orientation before DNA determines a person's sex. I have heard that the sex of a child may be altered after conception by environmental factors. I do not think the sexual orientation a person has at conception can be altered by environmental factors. AT WILL EMPLOYMENT FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL K-12 TEACHERS I think most public school k-12 teachers should be at will employees. I think public school k-12 teachers should only obtain tenure if the state legislature votes for a teacher to obtain tenure. I think one of the main reasons the education provided in many public k-12 schools is so bad is the fact that many bad teachers have tenure. Our country spends more on public k-12 education than most other countries in the world and we get the least for our money. Increased competition would probably make many public schools improve the quality of education they provide. The Federal Government should allow public money to go to private schools including religious schools. The Federal Government prohibits the free exercise of religion which Amendment One of the United States Constitution guarantees when the Federal Government says public money may not go to public schools because governments that require people to pay for education via taxation and do not allow people to use tax dollars to send their children to private religious schools makes it very hard for people to send their children to private religious schools. I think the Department of Education should work with the University of Chicago, Brown University, Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the California Institute of Technology, and some other colleges to rate many public k-12 schools. The Department of Education may want to form a government owned corporation with the University of Chicago, Brown University, Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the California Institute of Technology, and some colleges which will manage many public k-12 schools. The government owned corporation may also want to run many school districts. Our country should require teachers to pass tests in subjects before they may teach subjects. You would not want a person who knows nothing about medicine to perform brain surgery on you. Why does our country think it is a good idea for a person who has only basic math skills teaching calculus? POSSE COMITATUS AND THE UNITED STATES MILITARY Congress should allow the United States military to go after domestic criminals. Local police departments and state police departments oftem do not have the fire power to go after criminals and terrorists who obtain their funding from the sale of illegal drugs. HOMELESS SHELTERS Congress should give more money to homeless shelters. CONGRESS AND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Congres should give a lot of money to Habitat For Humanity to help it build many houses and repair many houses if Habitat For Humanity is willing to accept the money. CLONING Cloning to cure diseases, create blood, and create human organs should be legal. Cloning to create human beings should be illegal. ABORTION Women should be allowed to have abortions. One of the reasons women are allowed to have abortions is Amendment Nine of the United States Constitution which says "The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." When a government denies women the ability to have abortions, the government may be harming the health of the women and possibly causing their deaths because many women get very sick during pregnancy. Many women have died during childbirth in this country. Members of government need to remember that the unanimous Declaration of Independence says amongst the Rights that women have are Life and Liberty. Females should not need to obtain a parent's consent to obtain an abortion because requiring parental consent could increase the number of unsafe abortions. I hope that more women will choose adoption instead of abortion. I hope that more women will be able to obtain high quality pre-natal care, high quality post-natal care, and high quality, affordable child care to decrease the probability that women will choose abortion. Parents who do not want to keep their children should be allowed to give them to churches, synagogues, mosques, and government run orphanages. The churches, synagogues, mosques, and orphanages can try to find families who want to adopt children. Children who have physical deformities and mental deformities can have enjoyable, productive lives. A great book that deals with abortion and other issues is Protect and Defend by Richard North Patterson. BIRTH CONTROL The F.D.A. might want to allow Americans to obtain birth control methods that have been proven safe in other countries. PROSTITUTION Congress should pass a law which says that it is legal for people who are at least 18 years of age to be prostitutes and that it is legal for people who are at least 18 years of age to have sex with prostitutes because people who are at least 18 years of age have the unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness. Prostitution should be regulated. I would rather have the police going after violent criminals than voluntary prostitutes and their customers. Forced prostitution/slave trade is discussed by Preston Mendenhall in his Sex Slaves In Europe article on www.msnbc.com. Forced prostitution/slave trade of young girls and women is a major problem in Europe and may become a bigger problem in the United States of America. I think we need to work with European governments to reduce the forced prostitution/slave trade of young girls, young boys, and women. We need to have significant penalties for criminals who force young girls, young boys, and women into prostitution. We need to have significant penalties for criminals who keep young girls, young boys, and women as forced prostitutes/slaves. ANIMAL EXPERIMENTATION I hope that less animal experimentation will take place when the animal experimentation is not being used to study medicine, is not being used for pharmaceutical research, and/or is not being used for space related research. You can find out what the American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS) thinks about animal experimentation at www.aavs.org. ENERGY POLICY The following ideas will help the United States of America be less dependent upon oil. The United States of America might consume a lot less electricity if more homes and businesses use fluorescent light bulbs. The Federal Government should allow people and businesses to deduct the full cost of fluorescent light bulbs from their federal taxes. Congress could allow people to deduct the full cost of using public buses and public trains from their federal taxes. Congress could allow people and businesses to deduct the full cost of cars the Federal Government says are fuel efficient from their federal taxes. Congress could allow businesses to pay a federal tax rate that is not greater than 15 percent on profits from automobiles that make 35 mpg or greater. Congress could allow businesses to pay a federal tax rate that is not greater than 10 percent on profits from automobiles that make 50mpg or greater. These taxation incentives should be available to automobile manufacturers and automobile sellers. The Toyota Prius which has a hybrid engine get about 40 mpg according to Toyota's website. The Honda Civic hybrid gets about 40 mpg. Congress could allow people to deduct the full cost of automobiles that obtain their energy from hydrogen fuel cells from their federal taxes. Congress could allow automobile manufacturers to pay lower federal taxes on profits obtained from the selling of automobiles that obtain their energy from hydrogen fuel cells. YOU MAY FIND INFORMATION ABOUT HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS at the Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Letter's website located at www.hfcletter.com. Congress could allow people and businesses to deduct the full cost of hydrogen fuel cells that they use to produce electricity for their homes and businesses from their federal taxes. Congress could allow people and businesses to deduct the full cost of solar energy production panels from their federal taxes. Congress could lower the taxes on the profits obtained from the making of hydrogen fuel cells and the making of solar energy producing panels. The Federal Government could help businesses build electricity generating plants that obtain their energy from hydrogen fuel cells. Oil producing businesses and other businesses could pay lower taxes on profits they obtain from selling energy that is generated by hydrogen fuel cells. The Federal Government could build electricity generating plants that obtain energy from the burning of alcohol in combustion engines. People can find information about using alcohol as a fuel source at the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition which is www.e85fuel.com. I think it might be possible to use engines similar to the ones in automobiles to produce electricity for homes and businesses. The Federal Government might want to help businesses build 35 or more commercial nuclear fission power plants. Our country may have to build several nuclear power plants after our country stops using some of the nuclear power plants it is using now. You may find information about nuclear power plants at www.nucleartourist.com. I am not a fan of nuclear fission power plants. We made need more nuclear fission power plants if we do not obtain a lot more of our energy from hydrogen fuel cells. The Federal Government might want to build several nuclear waste disposal sites. DESALINIZATION PLANTS The Federal Government may want to help businesses build 25 or more desalinization plants that are able to turn ocean water and other types of water into water suitable for drinking by humans. Desalinization takes salt out of water. CANADA AS PART OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Congress could ask Canada if it would like to be part of the United States of America. MEXICO AS TWO STATES Congress might want to see if Mexico might want to join the United States of America as two states. One state could be North Mexico and the other state could be South Mexico. Each state could have two Senators. The United States House of Representatives could be increased by 140 seats. One hundred seats in the United States House of Representatives could be divided between North Mexico and South Mexico. The other 40 seats could be divided between the 20 states with the smallest populations. CUBA AS A STATE Congress might want to ask Cuba if it would like to be a state in the United States of America. PUERTO RICO AS A STATE Congress might want to ask Puerto Rico if it would like to be a state in the United States of America. CENTRAL AMERICA AND SOUTH AMERICA Congress might want to ask the states of Central America and South America if they would like to be part of the United States of America. REGULATION OF COLLEGE EDUCATION PRICES Congress should decide if the Department of Education should have the power to regulate the prices that private college, private universities, public colleges, public universities, and private k-12 schools charge their students. Regulation of the prices that schools charge may cause more harm than good. Congress might have to overturn many decisions made by the Department of Education. MINING THE MOON The moon could be mined for helium-3 and other minerals with unmanned space vehicles. Helium-3 can be used to produce fusion energy. Helium-3 is rare on Earth and abundant on the moon. I found out about helium-3 when I read Back to the Moon by Homer H. Hickam Jr. whose life is portrayed in the movie October Sky. DRUNK DRIVING PENALTIES In 1980, one of the best friends I have ever had was killed by a drunk driver. His death was the greatest shock of my life. I think he would have grown up to be a very great man. Since his death, I have supported much tougher penalties against drunk drivers who kill with their automobiles. If the penalties I talk about in this section had existed before my friend was killed, he might be a husband and a father now. I believe that Congress should pass a law that says that drunk drivers who kill with automobiles should obtain a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment without possibility of parole or the death penalty. I believe that when a person drinks alcohol, drives an automobile drunk, and kills someone, the person has committed premeditated, coldblooded murder. Our society should not be giving sympathy to the drunk driver who was not forced to drink and drive. It is not an accident when a person is killed by a drunk driver. It is murder. If our country values the lives of our citizens after they are born, our country should at least give drunk drivers who kill with their automobiles life imprisonment without possibility of parole. REQUESTS FOR MAKERS OF MOVIES If you a make a movie and mention the Founding Fathers, please do not say all of them were atheists because many of them prayed in government owned buildings and other places. If you make a movie and mention the Founding Fathers, please do not say all of them were anti-gun because many of them owned guns and hunted. If you make a movie and mention the Founding Fathers, please do not say none of them drank alcohol because many of them made their own alcohol and drank the alcohol they made. If you make a movie and mention the Founding Fathers, please do not say none of them used hemp because many of them grew their own hemp and the Declaration of Independence is written on paper made from hemp. MY VIEWS ON HOMOSEXUALITY I do not consider homosexuality to be a sin. I do not believe that homosexuals go to hell if they are not evil. I think people are homosexual because of genetics and/or choice. People often fall in love with another soul. I do not believe that a person should be discriminated because of the person's sexual orientation. I believe that homosexuals should be allowed to serve in the United States Military in combat positions as well as non combat positions. I think it is stupid and possibly suicidal for a country to keep fine warriors from serving because of their sexual orientation. I would much rather have a volunteer military than a military which obtains soldiers from a draft. SOME OF MY VIEWS ON SEX I believe that it is a good idea for parents and teachers to start teaching children about sex before they turn six years old because many girls are getting pregnant at 10 years of age. I wish most couples would not engage in a sexual activity which can result in pregnancy if they do not want to have children. If they study human anatomy well, they should be able to figure out other ways to give each other a great deal of pleasure. UNITED STATES OF EARTH A few hundred years from now, the citizens of the Earth might want to create a United States of Earth which has a Constitution similar to the Constitution of the United States of America. The United States of Earth could have 500 states, a 5000 member United States of Earth House of Representatives, two Senators from each state, a 15 member United States of Earth Supreme Court, and a 15 member Federal Reserve Bank of the United States of Earth. The United States of America and other countries could still exist. The legislatures of the states and the legislatures of the countries could have the power to veto laws, regulations, and other decisions made by the United States of Earth. The legislatures of the states and the legislatures of the countries could have the power to remove from office the President of the United States of Earth, the Vice President of the United States of Earth, members of the United States of Earth Supreme Court, members of the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States of Earth. One currency could exist. Multiple currencies could exist. Trade barriers and tariffs could be eliminated. The citizens of the Earth might want to create a United States of Europe, a United States of Africa, and a United States of South America before a United States of Earth is created. A United States of Earth might be a bad idea. I would prefer that all citizens of the Earth be citizens of the United States of America. EMPATHY Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary on page 407 says empathy is "1. the imaginative projection of a subjective state into an object so that the object appears to be infused with it" "2. the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner; also, the capicity for this" Many of the proposals on my resume came about after I asked my self how would I like to be in another person's shoes meaning how would I like it if governments treated me the way that governments treat many other people and how would I like it if businesses treated me the way that businesses treat many other people.
