KEN STREMSKY DISCUSSES CAMPAIGN STRATEGY AND OTHER TOPICS I believe our Republic is harmed when major leaders in a political party do not compete against the President of the United States of America who belongs to their party in Presidential primaries. My response to the Telegraph editorial endorsing Smith over Sununu is on Part Two of my Political Platform. I discuss the media, campaign strategy, unions, national security, soldiers, Veterans, gun control, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, line item veto, Flag Protection Amendment, and Lawyers on this website. AN E-MAIL I RECEIVED ON JUNE 28, 2002 On June 28, 2002, I received an e-mail from a writer who said I was "too conceited and I talk too much." I do not think there is anything wrong with a person believing in his/her ability. I do not think there is anything wrong with a person saying the person is superior to opponents when the person is superior to opponents. Are voters likely to vote for someone who says their opponents are better than the person is? I believe if you run for elective office it is better to talk too much about the issues and yourself than to talk too little about the issues and yourself. I believe that before primary election day a candidate for elective office should discuss his/her positions on the issues in great detail and discuss the person's past in great detail. If you are not willing to fight for yourself and issues important to you, you should not run for elective office. On August 26, 2002, my Republican opponents were AWOL on many important issues on their websites that I discuss including campaign finance reform, election reform, and tort reform. Voters do not know much about my opponents positions on the issues. On August 30, 2002, I was the only United States Senate candidate from New Hampshire who has posted information on the League of Women Voters website which is http://www.dnet.org. I have had information on dnet.org for more than a month. My Republican opponents have not had the guts to post information on dnet.org. My Republican opponents have not had the guts to debate me in Manchester. My Republican opponents positions on the issues are virtually identical and they talk like they will be puppets of President Bush. My positions on the issues are significantly different than my opponents. People who think my Republican opponents will better represent them in Washington, DC than I would have not compared their positions on the issues discussed on their websites with my positions on the issues. Governor Jeanne Shaheen will probably due to my Republican opponents what she did to Gordon Humphrey. I know I can beat Governor Shaheen if I get decent media coverage. I doubt my Republican opponents can at this time. I have told the campaigns of both Congressman John Sununu and Senator Bob Smith that I am willing to give them free advice on how to beat Governor Jeanne Shaheen if I am not the Republican nominee in Nobvember. I am also willing to appear in television commercials for the nominee of the Republican party in November and discuss in those commercials why Governor Jeanne Shaheen should not be elected to the United States Senate. RESPONSE TO THE TELEGRAPH EDITORIAL GOP OUGHT TO SELECT SMITH OVER SUNUNU On September 5, 2002, I e-mailed the following letter to the Telegraph. I added a word to the following letter. I added a after as and before Republican. Dear Telegraph: Please publish the following letter to the editor before September 10. Letter to the Editor: I liked your September 3, 2002 editorial GOP ought to select Smith over Sununu. I am running for the United States Senate from New Hamphire in 2002 as a Republican. My website is http://www.geocities.com/kstremsky The Telegraph did an article about me in the August 4, 2002 paper which people may link to from my website. The September 3, 2002 editorial says "Truth be told, politically there isn't much difference between Smith and Sununu. Both are staunch conservatives, but Smith lately has displayed a streak of independence while Sununu appears to be a faithful adherent to the Bush administration's agenda." The article also says "However, New Hampshire has always prided itself on its streak of independence. And while both Sununu and Smith can point to their conservative Republican credentials as the reason they should win the Republican nomination, having the ability to veer away occasionally from the party line or that of the administration in the White House is a quality a U.S. senator should have. When the administration is on a wrong course of action, a senator should have the wherewithal to say so and vote accordingly." I am a moderate and an independent thinker who is pro-choice on abortion and many other issues because I believe in individual Liberty and limited government. I more strongly support the Bill of Rights than my Republican opponents. On my website, I say that President Bush should be removed from office by Congress because he has ordered his administration to deny Amendment Six rights to citizens of the United States of America he calls enemy combatants. I am the only Republican United States Senate candidate from New Hampshire who says that Trade Promotion Authority is not constitutional because of Article Two, Section Two which says that a Treaty requires the Advice and Consent of the United States Senate. On August 26, 2002, I was the only Republican United States Senate candidate from New Hampshire who discussed campaign finance reform and election reform significantly on a webiste. People may see my Vox Populi dealing with election reform and campaign finance reform by going to the website of The Green Papers which is http://www.thegreenpapers.com. On September 4, 2002, I was the only United States Senate candidate from New Hampshire who had information posted on the League of Women Voters website which is http://www.dnet.org. My Republican opponents have not had the guts to post information on the website. My Republican opponents have not had the guts to debate me in Manchester. On page thirteen of my website which is http://www.geocities.com/kstremsky/page13.html, I say why I am the Republican most likely to beat Governor Shaheen in November. My Republican opponents will continue to be puppets of President Bush most of the time if they are elected. My plans for education are discussed on page six of my website which is http://www.geocities.com/kstremsky/page6.html ( I forgot the word are when I e-mailed the Telegraph.) I more strongly support Social Security and Medicare than my Republican opponents. On August 26, 2002 on a website, I was the only Republican United States Senate candidate from New Hampshire who said the Federal Government should use Bayh-Dole which has been the Law of the Land for many years to lower prescription drug prices. Bayh-Dole allows the federal government to license patents based on federal government research to other companies. The more companies that make the same drug the lower the price of the drug will probably be. People may find out about Bayh-Dole by typing Bayh-Dole into the search engine of Duke University's website which is http://www.duke.edu. I hope people will vote for me on September 10, 2002 in the United States Senate primary. (I forgot in the letter to the Telegraph.) I am also running for President of the United States of America in 2004. Sincerely, Kenneth Stremsky THE AUGUST 23, 2002 UNION LEADER ON PAGE A10 SAYS "This is not a good direction for New Hampshire politics. We don't want to be a state where only the wealthy stand a chance of winning statewide elective office. Nor do we want to be a state where unconstiutional regulations on campaign spending unduly constrain the ability of candidates and voters to make political speech." I discuss Killing Free Speech and Campaign Finance Reform on page seven of my website which is http://www.geocities.com/kstremsky/page7.html The Union Leader has printed my letters to the editors for many years. The Union Leader has allowed me to post its editorial dealing with Trade Promotion Authority on my website. I wish the Union Leader had interviewed me in person, via phone, or via e-mail. I hope I will be interviewed by the Union Leader someday. WMUR-TV AND THE LIES WMUR-TV TELLS NEW HAMPSHIRE VOTERS You may view my picture on http://www.wmur.com. On September 2, 2002, on WMUR-TV's website under "WMUR Launches Commitment 2002' Broadcast Will Feature Candidates, Issue Interviews" POSTED:12:01 p.m. EDT April 26, 2002 "MANCHESTER, NH. - WMUR-TV, New Hampshire's largest commercial television station, is launching "Commitment 2002," an effort to provide viewers with the most in-depth campaign and election coverage in the region. "Commitment 2002" continues WMUR-TV's traditon of quality political coverage in New Hampshire. "Close-Up," WMUR-TV's weekly show analyzing the state's political happenings, will devote evry half-hour program in the weeks leading up to the primary to interviews with the candidates. "We are thrilled to offer our viewers this type of high level political programming," said WMUR-TV News Director Jennifer Crompton. "New Hampshire is a very politically involved state and we are excited to once again provide our viewers the best possible access to local candidates." All interviews will air in the regular "Close-Up" time period of Sunday at 12:30 p.m. To provide the opportunity for all candidates to be heard, some Sundays will consist of back-to-back programs. Commitment 2002 will include reports and updates on WMUR-TV's Web site, www.thewmurchannel.com, including candidate position statements and special links to political parties' and related organizations." The letter says "best possible access to local candidates." The letter say "provide for opportunity for all candidates to be heard." My United States Senate opponents had information on WMUR-TV's website on July 9, 2002. On July 9, 2002 I received an e-mail from WMUR-TV telling me WMUR-TV had received my candidate position statements it asked me for via the United States Postal Service. It took WMUR-TV more than a month to put up my position statements. If WMUR-TV thought they were too long, WMUR-TV should have asked me to shorten them the way the League of Women Voters did. WMUR-TV did not even provide a link to my website. WMUR-TV has not allowed me to be interviewed on "Close-Up." WMUR-TV did not allow me to participate in the Republican United States Senate debate even though WMUR-TV is allowing a lot more than three people to participate in the 1st District Congressional Republican race. On September 2, 2002 does not mention my name when it asks people who they are going to vote for in the Republican United States Senate primary. I hope viewers of WMUR-TV and advertisers on WMUR-TV realize that WMUR-TV is a television station that lies to viewers. THE MEDIA AND CAMPAIGNS In future elections, I hope newspapers will post transcripts of debates for United States Senate candidates, United States House of Representative candidates, and Governor candidates on their websites. I hope in future elections before primary election day, New Hampshire Public Television will give each candidate for United States Senate, United States House Of Representatives, and Governor at least two hours of free advertising time. I hope in future elections before primary election day, New Hampshire Public Television will sponsor at least two televised debates each for United States Senate candidates, United States House of Representative candidates, and Governor candidates. I hope WMUR-TV and the Union Leader will have at least three televised debates each before the general election for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor. In the future before primary elections, I hope that the Union Leader and New Hampshire Public Television will have at least two debates each for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor candidates. I hope that WMUR-TV before the general election will give each candidate for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor at least fours hours of advertising time which could be between 1 am and 5am. I hope that in future elections before primary election day WMUR-TV will give each candidate for United States Senate, United States House of Representatives, and Governor at least two hours of free advertising time which could be between 1 am and 5 am. I AM WILLING TO DO INTERVIEWS WITH THE MEDIA - PART ONE I am willing to do interviews with the media in person in Manchester, via phone, and/or via e-mail. I am willing to answer most questions that do not deal with my health, my family, and my sex life. I believe candidates have a right to privacy on these topics. I do not have a problem receiving negative publicity that is truthful. I do not have a problem receiving positive publicity that is truthful. I am a Renaissance person and I may answer questions truthfully in different ways at different times. I realize that there are often multiple ways to solve problems. I discuss how to reduce prescription drug prices in various ways on this website. I may provide information in interviews before the information is discussed on my website. When it comes to interviews, my answers may be the most truthful and unpredictable answers that reporters have ever received from any candidate. I keep coming up with new ways to solve problems on a regular basis. I have been coming up up with many ways to solve problems since Iran Contra. I have been studying politics, warfare, history, law, and business since I was a young child. I have not mentioned on my website all the methods I think we should use to solve our problems. I AM WILLING TO DO INTERVIEWS WITH THE MEDIA - PART TWO I think members of the media who interview me will realize that people will want to know more and more about me in the future and my views on the issues. Newspapers and magazines that have information about me may have more readers in the future and more valuable advertising space. Television stations may be able to sell advertising time for more money when I am being interviewed. The media should not expect me to discuss conversations I have agreed not to discuss. I believe in executive privilege when executive privilege is used in an ethical fashion. I hope the media will metnion the websites of candidates when they discuss the candidates. I hope the media will investigate me the way the media would a nominee of a party for President of the United States of America. I believe that I will someday be elected President of the United States of America. I might have to run for President of the United States of America several times before I am elected. I might be the nominee of the Republican party in general elections several times before I am elected President of the United States of America. I am 32 years old now, I believe I will grow on the American people and my personality will not be as great a liability in the future as my personality is now. I have nothing to hide. I have done things I wish I had not done. I have said things I wish I had not said. I have written things I wish I had not written. I have not disclosed all the things I have done in my life that I am ashamed of on this website. I strongly support Amendment One protection for the press. I hope that more reporters will behave in an ethical fashion. I hope the media will never again do to a candidate's family what the media did to President Bush's daughters. President Bush's daughters do not hold elective office and they did not do anything very unethical. When the media drags the family members of a candidate through the mud, the media increases the likelihood our country will only be led by idiots. CAMPAIGN STRATEGY If you run for elective office and/or run a business, I highly recommend you follow the following advice. A candidate who does not talk about the candidate's faults should not be surprised when other candidates and the media do. Remember what happened to President Bush in 2000 and President Clinton in 1992. One of the main reasons I discuss negative information on my website is the belief that many more people would want to view my website if they knew there was negative information about me on it. I think People magazine sells a lot more issues when it has negative information about movie stars than it does when it has positive information about movie stars. When you have a small budget, you need to think of creative ways to increase web traffic. I hope that many of the people that come to my website to view negative information will decide to check out my views on the issues. I believe that people are likely to but a product or vote for a candidate when they know a lot of information about the product or candidate. I discuss more issues than most candidates. I also have many logical solutions to the problems facing our country. Do not lie to the press. Say what the backbone of your political platform is. The backbone of my political platform is the Bill of Rights, the rest of the United States Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. If you do not say what you will fight for, people may think you will never fight for anything. Do not say you will not fight for other things as well. Remember what President Harry Truman's adminstration did before the Korean Conflict which was not a War because Congress did not declare War. If you have benefitted significantly from something a company has done for you or does for you, you probably should not use executive privilege to keep discussions you have had with the company from coming out. If President Bush does not fully disclose his administration's dealings with Enron, I dount he will win the Republican nomination for President of the United States of America in 2004 and if he does win the nomination, most major Democratic candidates will easily be able to beat him. Only say, you can not be bought if you can not be bought. I discuss how I have benefitted significantly from the patient assistance program that a major prescription drug company has on this website because I am trying to limit the damage my participation in the program does to my campaigns. I have been in the program for several years and it is open to people who make less than an amount of money the prescription drug company sets. The fact that I continue to benefit from the program does not change the fact that I am as willing to punish the company if the company does something wrong as I am if another company does something wrong. The ability to like who I am is more important to me than my health and my life. If I did not like who I am most of the time, my life would have no value for me. My opinion of myself is more important to me than the opinions of other people and God's opinion of me. I take the medication for a chronic illness that is not contagious. I did not know the illness existed before 1997. Expect to be followed by private detectives and expect campaign records, finances, and medical records to be viewed by computer hackers hired by your competition. I believe there are some computer hackers as good as the ones who work for the National Security Agency. Remember watergate. Never say you have never done anything unethical. Say that you have made mistakes. If you say you have never made mistakesm do not be surprised if the press finds out what your mistakes are. Never say you have never said or done anything stupid. Never say you have always treated the opposite sex well. Try to base your life on the principles discussed in the poen IF by Rudyard Kipling. I have worked part-time for a video store rental chain since July 199. Try to have the type of character that Sir Thomas More had when he stood up to King Henry VIII. Sir Thomas More did die because of King Henry VIII. A Man For All Seasons with Paul Scofield discusses the life and death of Sir Thomas More. I also highly recommend that people watch Othello with Orson Welles and that they do not make the mistake I made when I was in college. If I had watched Othello in high school, I would not have made the mistake that Othello made. Do not do what Gary Hart did when he ran for President of the United States of America when he was asked about his sex life. If he had said no comment when he was asked the question that derailed his campaign, he might have been elected President of the United States of America in 1988 after President Reagan's two terms were up. Do not do what Michael Dukakis did when he was asked what he would do if someone harmed his wife. You need to say that you would want the person to be punished severely. If youu do not support the death penalty, you may say that. I do support the death penalty. Do not get into an extremely boring discussion. Define yourself before other candidates define you. Governor Shaheen was able to beat Gordon Humphrey because she defined him better than he defined himself. This is basic strategy discussed in The Art of War by Sun Tzu. I highly recommend the book translated by General Samuel B. Griffith that has a foreword by B.H. Liddell Hart. I learned from The Art of War by Sun Tzu that a candidate who does not know himself/herself and does not know the competition is likely to lose every battle. I have learned other lessons as well from the book. After you define yourself, consider defining your opponents. If you are going to go after another candidate's past, be prepared for other people and the media to go after your past. If you are an elected official and you say you will stand up to prescription drug companies, make sure to not cave in to a credit card company. I do not think many people take Governor Jeanne Shaheen seriously when she says she will stand up to prescription drug companies as a United States Senator because she caved into Providian. I also do not think many people consider Governor Shaheen to be a leader because when she ran for re-election she said she would tell New Hampshire her plan for education after the general election. If she was a leader, she would have told the people of New Hampshire her plan for education funding before primary election day. A leader says what the leader's views on the major issues of the day are before the primary election. A leader wants to have a mandate if the leader wins. If you do not discuss the issues before primary election day, you will probably not have a mandate if you win. Many people believe that a candidate who is unwilling to debate other candidates is a coward. If you are unwilling to debtae a candidate, be sure to have a good excuse. A great book about military strategy is The Second Revised Edition of Strategy by B.H. Liddell Hart. If you are going to challenge the status quo like I do, you should read The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli because it discusses how people who challenge the status quo are often treated. The best book I have ever read about leadership is Executive Qualities written by Joseph M. Fox. The book is currently out of print. I hope the book will be available in bookstores again. Executive Qualities, The Art of War by Sun Tzu, the Book of Job, and the poem IF by Rudyard Kipling have had more influence on me than anything else. I am a person who can be swayed by logic. Other things seldom change my mind. Money does not change my mind. Power and money will have no use to me after I am dead. Artful Persuasion: How To Command Attention, Change Minds and Influence People by Harry Mills discusses many techniques that elected officials and businesses use to persuade people. The Accidental Sales Person: How to Take Control of Your Career and Earn The Respect and Income You Deserve by Chris Lytle. You might want to know several chinese proverbs. My favorite is the one that says something like the following. Give a person a fish and the person eats today. If you give a person a fishing rod and teach the person how to ifsh, the person may be able to feed himslef/herself for a lifetime. Of course, the person should worry about some judges who think it is agood idea to ban all fishing. A candidate needs to be able to say why he.she has changed his/her mind on an issue. A candidate does not want people to think the candidate can be easily swayed by polling numbers. People are not likely to re-elect office holders that remind them of jellyfish. I hope to have a better website in the future that will include positive feedback and negative feedback. A candidate whp has the emotional maturity to accept criticism is more likely to be lected than a person who acts like a two year old having a temper tantrum after the person receives criticism. UNION, UNION DUES, AND PAY Government employees may not be required to be members of unions because people have the right not to assemble. Government employees may not be kept from being members of unions because they have the right to peaceably assemble. Government employees who do not belong to unions should not be required to pay union dues. Private sector employees should be allowed to join unions. Private sector employees should not be required to pay union dues when they do not belong to unions. Companies may not keep employees from discussing their pay with fellow employees and others because of freedom of speech. NATIONAL SECURITY If I am elected to the United States Senate and/or President of the United States of America, I will ask Congress to create a Department of Homeland Security that will include a National Police Force that will have at least 100,000 officers. The Department of Homeland Security will be in charge of airport security and airline security. I do not think the Department of Transportation should be in charge of airport security and airlines security. The United States military should expand the size of its special forces. I want Congress to create at least one more Army Academy similar to West Point, at least one more Air Force Academy similar to Colorado Springs, and at least one more Naval Academy similar to Annapolis. I will ask Congress to create a United States of America Foreign Legion similar to the French Foreign Legion. MILITARY TRAINERS DIVISION I want Congress to create a Military trainers division because I want the United States of America to benefit more from the vast experience of its veterans in a family friendly way. The Military Trainers Division may increase the likelihood that our country will win future battles and decrease the probability that our soldiers will die in combat. I think many soldiers die in combat and in training exercises because they were not trained as well as they should have been. I was a Boy Scout and soldiers should be better prepared than they are now. I took a Hunter Safety Course, an Advanced First Aid Course, and CPR courses when I was a teenager. Members of the Military Trainers Division will be former members of the United States Military. Members of the Military Trainers Division should be able to work part-time or full-time. A member of the Military Trainers could work less than 10 hours a week. A member of the Military Trainers could work one day in one month and not work again for several months. Members of the Military Trainers Division could help train current soldiers, ROTC members, and junior ROTC members. Members of the Military Trainers Division should not have to serve in combat. Members of the Military Trainers Division should be allowed to serve in combat. Members of the Military Trainers Division should not have to train people outside of the United States of America. Members of the Military Trainers Division should be allowed to train people outside of the United States of America. TAXES, SOLDIERS, AND VETERANS A soldier should not have to pay a federal income tax greater than seven percent on the first $100,000 the soldiers makes in a year. The Social Security tax and the Medicare tax should not be included in the seven percent. A soldier's spouse should not have to pay a federal income tax greater than seven percent on the first $100,000 the spouse makes in a year. A Veteran should not have to pay a federal income tax greater than seven percent on the first $100,000 the Veteran makes in a year. The Social Security tax and the Medicare tax should not be included in the seven percent. A Veteran's spouse should not have to pay a federal income tax greater than seven percent on the first $100,000 the spouse makes in a year. The Social Security tax and the Medicare tax should not be included in the seven percent. MILITARY RETIREE'S RETIRED PAY AND DISABILITY COMPENSATION A military retiree's retired pay should not be reduced by one dollar for every dollar in disability compensation due to military service. The computation of military retired pay for members of the United States Military with extensive hazardous duty experience should include hazardous duty pay. H.R. 3410 sponsored by Representative Kay Granger Of Texas deals with this topic. Her website is http://kaygranger.house.gov TAXES, SOLDIERS, AND BUSINESSES The Federal Government should allow a business at least a $2,000 per employee tax credit if the employee is a member of the National Guard and Reserves. This tax credit will increase the probability that members of the National Guard and Reserves will be able to obtain good paying jobs. The Federal Government should allow a business a $500 per employee tax credit if the employee is a member of the ROTC, junior ROTC, and/or other similar military training programs for young people. LINE ITEM VETO An amendment to the United States Constitution should be passed that gives the President of the United States of America the line item veto. A line item veto decision of the President of the United States of America should be overturned when at least sixty percent of the United States House of Representatives and/or at least sixty percent of the United States Senate wants the decision overturned. Only sixty percent of one house of Congress should be necessary to overturn a line item veto decision. GUN CONTROL Amendment Two of the United States Constitution says "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Because Amendment Two mentions the Militia, the right to keep and bear arms is not an absolute right because Article One of the United States Constitution discusses the Militia in great detail. Article One, Section Eight of the United States Constitution says Congress has the power "To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress." The National Guard and Reserves is only a small part of the Militia. Historically, I think the Militia has been all able bodied men between certain ages the Congress has set. Article One, Section Eight also gives Congress the power to regulate Commerce. Congress may place waiting periods on guns. Congress may decide who may not own guns. Congress may decide who may not sell guns. Congress may decide which types of guns and ammunition may not be sold in the United States of America mainly because Militia is mentioned in Amendment Two. I do not think it is possible to keep guns out of the hands of criminals because the War on Drugs has not kept people from getting illegal drugs. If law abiding citizens are not allowed to own guns, I do not think our citizens will keep their civil liberties very long. THE LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program should provide people with summer cooling assistance and winter heat assistance. The budget of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program should be at least five billion dollars a year. FLAG PROTECTION AMENDMENT I do not support banning political speech. I do not support the Flag Protection Amendment because it bans political speech. I think it is a very bad idea for Congress to have the power to limit political speech. I think people who throw rotten tomatos at people who burn our flag when it should not be burned should not be prosecuted because they have freedom of speech as well. People who are hit by rotten tomatos for burning our flag when it should not be burned should not be able to sue because they were hit by rotten tomatos. LAWYERS AND SOCIETY One of my grandfathers was a lawyer. One of my grandfathers ran his own small business. I have been interested in the law and business since I was a child. People should be wary of people who hate lawyers. People should be wary of those who blame lawyers for our nation's problems. If lawyers did not do the work they do, there would be a lot more unsafe cars and other products sold in the United States of America. If lawyers did not do the work they do there would be many more innocent people in jail an don death row. If lawyers did not do the work they do there would be a lot fewer civil liberties. Lawyers are not responsible for frivilous lawsuits. Individuals who do not take personal responsibility for their actions are responsible for frivolous lawsuits. I do think there are many lawyers in our country who should be in jail for crimes they have committed especially fraud and overcharging for hours. I think many times people win money from juries they would not have if juries fulfilled their responsibilities better. The legal system is not supposed to be a lottery tht allows people to obtain ridiculous sums of money they have no right to obtain. This is one of the reasons why I support tort reform.
