KEN STREMSKY GIVES ADVICE TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES ADVICE FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN MEXICO, CENTRAL AMERICA, SOUTH AMERICA, AND OTHER DEVELOPING COUNTRIES This section is based on my belief that before many people are capable of logical thought they have to be made angry. I would be happy to hear recommendations from people living in Mexico, Central America, South America, and other developing countries via e-mail for this section and other sections on my political platform. One. Tort Reform A country that says that a company's legal liability on a per person basis is usually not above an amount of money the government sets is likely to attract businesses to its country and get businesses to expand in its country. Your country should probably not have per person liability greater than what $2 million US dollars are worth now. You should realize that the value of the US dollar will probably decrease significantly in value in the future because the United States of America is currently using many economic policies similar to the ones that China used when China was the most advanced country in the world several hundred years ago that turned China into a country that was dominated by European powers. Two. Patent protection If you country protects patents well, businesses are more likely to sell products in you country and make products in your country. Three. Taxation policies Do not punish people for saving and investing the way the United States of America does now. A significant portion of the population of the United States of America could not support themselves if the Social Security system collapsed in a short period of time. Do not punish consumption too much with sales taxes. Sales taxes decrease consumption. When consumption decreases, job losses are likely to increase. Four. Learn about world history Many citizens of the United States of America do not know much about the history of the United States of America. Many citizens of the United States of America know even less about world history. Sometimes, it amazes me when the Federal Government of the United States of America makes the same mistakes that the British Empire, Chinese Empire, and Roman Empire made. Five. Education Base your k-12 educational system on Europe's educational system and Japan's educational system. Do not base your educational system on the United States of America's public educational k-12 system. A significant portion of the money spent on public k-12 education in the United States of America is flushed down the toilet. Sometimes, I think about 40 percent of the money spent on public k-12 educational districts in the United States of America is useless. The ability to know a subject and teach a subject is not a priority in many public k-12 schools. A Masters degree in education is considered by many fools to be a requirement for teaching. I would prefer that people who have a BA in a subject from a decent school be hired to teach a subject before a person who has a Masters in Education who does not know anything about the subject. Many of the colleges in the United States of America used to be the best in the world. Far fewer colleges in the United States of America are among the best in the world now because an extreme form of political correctness has decreased great debates about the issues. Six. Trade policies Trade policies that are win for your country and win for your trading partners are more likely to create jobs in your country and other countries. I would not be surprised if many of the trade policies the United States of America has now causes trade wars that will lead to a Great Depression worse than the Great Depression that ended in the 1940s. Seven. Understanding citizens of the United States of America Many citizens of the United States of America are like frogs. If you put a frog into boiling water, the frog usually jumps out immediately. If you put a frog in cool water and rise the water to boiling slowly, the frog will probably not jump out and be boiled to death. Less than sixty percent of the citizens of the United States of America vote in Presidential general elections. About forty percent of the people who vote in general elections know what the issues facing the United States of America are and the positions on these issues the candidates have. Citizens of the United States of America are more likely to vote for a good looking person, who looks good in a suit, has a nice smile, has good communication skills, and does not know much about the issues than someone who has mediocre looks, does not own a suit, has a mediocre smile, has mediocre communication skills, and knows a great deal about the issues. Eight. Improve human rights and civil liberties If a country cares about human rights and civil liberties, the people of the country will probably be more productive and happier long term than people who live in a country which does not. I expect citizens of the United States of America to lose most of their civil liberty protections guaranteed by the Bill of Rights within the next 100 years. Some Examples of civil liberty losses: a. Federal government prohibits the "free exercise of religion" in public schools. b. Federal government prohibits public money to go to private religious schools which makes it harder for parents to teach their children the parents religious beliefs. c. The Nashua Public Library in Nashua, New Hampshire which is a branch of government has been allowed to infringe on my Amendment One rights and the Amendment One rights of people living in Nashua. I wanted to hold a Meet the Candidate Event that was free and open to the public. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents would have been able to attend. The Nashua Public Library infringes on Amendment One of the United States Constitution by prohibiting political speech, denying the "right of the people peaceably to assemble" on government owned property to discuss the issues, and discuss their "grievances" with the Government with a candidate running for elective office. d. Amendment Four of the United States of America is weakened on a daily basis because "unreasonable searches and seizures" often take place during the poorly conducted War on Drugs. e. Amendment Five of the United States Constitution is often weakened because "private property" is often "taken for public use" "without just compensation." Many governments do this by saying people may not use land they own the way they want when governments have not paid the owners just compensation for not using their land in these ways which causes many people significant economic losses. f. Amendment Six of the United States Constitution is often weakened because many citizens of the United States of America are not able to get a "speedy and public trial." g. Many courts have allowed companies to require customers to sign binding arbitration agreements which are illegal because of Amendment Seven of the United States Constitution which says "In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law." h. The estate tax that governments make people pay are illegal because Amendment Eight of the United States Constitution says "excessive fines" shall not be "imposed." i. Many of the extremely high damage awards that companies have to pay in the United States of America are "excessive fines." Nine. Try to reduce the supply of cocaine, marijuana, and heroin via crop substitution polices and farm subsidies. Consider growing more industrial type hemp and then make clothing, paper, ropes, sails for sail boats, and other products. I do realize that many of the problems your countries have are caused by citizens of the United States of America who do not care that their usage of marijuana, heroin, and cocaine for non medical purposes has caused the deaths of many of your fellow citizens and provided the money that many terrorists have used to buy weapons. I hope the Federal Government will legalize and regulate the sale of marijuana, heroin, and cocaine for medical uses and non medical uses. Prices might decrease significantly if this is done and the terrorists who are harming your countries would not be able to buy as many weapons and ammunition. Ten. Build better subways to decrease the number of automobiles on your roads. Buy buses that use hydrogen fuel cells, solar energy producing panels, and fuels that pollute less than gasoline. Consider buying buses that run on electricity. Eleven. Build more hospitals and have high quality national health insurance coverage in your countries. Do allow for profit health insurance companies to compete with the national health insurance companies. Thirteen. Build a lot more water treatment plants so that your people are less likely to get sick from and die from water born diseases. Fourteen. Encourage pharmaceutical companies to come to your countries and make drugs based on plants from your rainforests. Your rainforests are more valuable than all the gold and oil in the world. I believe the cures for many types of cancer as well as many other diseases are the plants in your rainforests. When you cut down rainforests to make room for cattle and human development, you are making a small amount of money and giving up a potential windfall that might be very, very, very significant. I hope you will help the rainforest grow back in some places it has been eliminated if this is possible. Fifteen. You may want to build many desalinization plants. You might want the energy that is used for the plants to come from solar production panels and/or hydrogen fuel cells. Sixteen. You may want to build solar energy producing panel plants and hydrogen fuel cell production plants. Seventeen. If your countries treat women at least as well as men, your economies will probably grow a lot faster than they do now and many of your problems will probably be solved faster. I wrote most of WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR DEATH BED last year. WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR DEATH BED When you are on your death bed, I hope you can answer yes to the following questions? Did you dance in your mind if you could not dance physically? Did you dance physically if you could? Did you sing in your mind if you could not sign physically? Did you sing physically if you could? Did you enjoy smells if you were able to? Did you listen to great music if you were able to? Did you write poetry if you were physically able to? Did you usually vote in general elections? Did you usually try to find out the positions on the issues of the candidates that were running for elective office? Did you try many different kinds of foods if you were able to? Did you write letters to the editors of newspapers if you were able to? Did you read many books if you were physically able to? Did you laugh if you were physically able to? Did you cry if you were physically able to? Did you treat others well most of the time? Did you sometimes forgive others for harm they did? Did you sometimes ask for forgiveness when you acted badly? Did you not hate people because of their race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, amount of wealth, level of education, height, weight, hair color, eye color, parents, children, and/or national origin? Did you worry some but not too much? Did you try to be happy most of the time?
