KENNETH STREMSKY DISCUSSES ABORTION AND OTHER TOPICS THE BORN ALIVE INFANTS PROTECTION ACT I am glad the Born Alive Infants Protection Act became law. I hope that a law now will be passed that says that a woman whose child was born alive during an abortion procedure should not be allowed to have anything to do with the child she tried to abort. The woman should not have any parental rights involving the child she tried to abort. The woman should not be allowed to visit the child she tried to abort. This will decrease the probability that she will kill her child and say that the child died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. I think Sudden Infant Death Syndrome does happen. I do not think Sudden Infant Death Syndrome happens as often as many women says it does. You may link to my other website from this page. SOME POLICIES I BELIEVE WILL DECREASE THE NUMBER OF ABORTIONS IN OUR COUNTRY HOW TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF ABORTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY I believe that there should be limits on government power, that no government should have the power to force women to have abortions, and that no government should have the power to keep women from having abortions. I believe that women have the same "unalienable Rights" that men have and "among these rights are "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." Women also have a constitutional right to have abortions because of Amendment Nine of the United States Constitution which says "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." Forcing women to have children when they do not want to have children is a form of slavery. I do not support the Human Life Amendment because it would make women SLAVES for reproduction. A woman's rights supersede the rights of the child she is carrying. If I am the President of the United States of America and the Human Life Amendment is part of the United States Constitution, I will tell the executive branch of government not to enforce the Human Life Amendment because the Human Life Amendment is a form of slavery. I believe that human life begins with conception and that humans have souls and feelings at conception. Partial birth abortion is a medical procedure that women sometimes need. Partial birth abortion should not be banned. A woman should be allowed to have a partial birth abortion if she wants to have a partial birth abortion. Minors should not need parental consent to have abortions. If parental consent is required, many girls will probably get abortions done in unsafe places that might cause their deaths. Many minors become pregnant after being raped by family members. I believe that many women greatly regret having had abortions many years after they have had abortions. I hope someday most women will decide to only have abortions when their health is harmed by pregnancy. Some policies I believe will decrease number of abortions in the United States of America. One. The Federal Government should provide health care clinics with significant funding so that they may give free birth control to men and women. Two. The Federal Government should make sure that birth control methods that are proven safe in other countries will probably be used in this country. Three. The Federal Government should provide free information on the internet dealing with sex education. Techniques dealing with heterosexual sex for giving pleasure that do not involve sexual behavior that may result in pregnancy should be discussed with pictures. Four. Schools should teach personal responsibility for personal actions. Teenagers and others should be told that taking care of children is a significant responsibility that often costs a great deal of money. Five. The Federal Government should provide health care clinincs with significant funding so that they may provide free pre-natal care and free post-natal care for mothers and children. Six. The Federal Government should allow people and businesses to contribute money to a Maternity Leave and Paternity Leave Fund which will help mothers and fathers take time off from work so that they may take care of newborns. People and businesses should be allowed to deduct the full cost of yearly contributions to the fund from their federal taxes. Hopefully, the fund will someday have enough money to pay for six month paid maternity leaves and six month paid paternity leaves. Seven. The Federal Government should make it easier for people including homosexual couples to adopt children. Eight. The Federal Government should help pay for and run orphanages. REPRODUCTION AND TECHNOLOGY I hope that technology will be developed that will allow babies to grow outside of womens bodies. An egg and a sperm could be combined together and the fertilized egg would be placed in a nutrient rich environment that the fertilized egg would grow in until the baby is ready to leave the nutrient rich environment. In this situation, a man's permission should be necessary for an abortion to take place because the baby is growing outside of a woman's body. This technology would allow many couples who are not able to have children now to have children. People who are able to have children via natural means who would rather have children via this technology should be allowed to. The Federal Government should spend at least five billion dollars a year on this technology. Mozart and Beethoven and other classical music could be played while the babies grow in the nutrient rich environment. July 20, 2002 The following are my answers to a Candidate Questionnaire from Cornerstone Policy Research. I do not answer yes/no style questionnaires because they are useless and they harm our Republic because they limit political speech. Essay style questions are the only type of questions candidates for elective office should be asked. One Will you support tuition tax credits for parents? I support tuition tax credits for parents because I believe education is more likely to improve when parents are more involved in choosing schools for their children. Two. Will you support passage of hate crimes legislation? I will support hate crimes legislation that does not infringe on Amendment One of the United States Constitution. The government should punish violent acts and destruction of property. The government should not punish hate speech. Individuals may punish hate speech in legal ways. Three. Have you signed Americans for Tax Reform/Coalition of NH Taxpayers' Taxpayers' Protection Pledge? I have not signed the Americans for Tax Reform/Coalition of NH Taxpayers' Taxpayers' Protection Pledge and I am not going to sign it. A candidate who takes a no new tax pledge shows a lack of leadership and a poor knowledge of history. Sometimes, taxes need to be increased because of War, national emergency, state emergency, and other significant reasons. I do not have a problem with a candidate saying that the candidate will veto tax increases when the candidate thinks they are not necessary. I do not have a problem with a candidate saying the candidate will veto tax increases if spending the candidate believes is not essential is not cut first. Four. Do you support extending marriage benefits to same sex-couples? I do support extending marriage benefits to same sex couples because I believe homosexuals have the same rights that heterosexuals have. Five. Do you support mandatory anti-pornography Internet filtering in public schools and libraries? I do not support mandatory anti-pornography Internet filtering in public schools and libraries because this infringes on freedom of speech guaranteed by Amendment One of the United States Constitution. I do not have a problem with schools and libraries requiring that a person under 18 years of age needs to have a person over 18 years of age with them when the person uses the Internet in a public school or a public library. I do not have a problem with public schools and libraries having monitoring software that will tell them if pornography sites have been visited. I do not have a problem with public schools and libraries banning people from their computers when they check out pornography sites when people under 18 years of age are in the public schools and libraries. Six. Will you donate or support a pro-choice candidate? I am a pro-choice candidate and I have contributed money to pro-choice candidates. I am the only Republican candidate running for United States Senate who believes in limited government power. A candidate who believes that goverment should have the power to keep women from having abortions does not believe in limited government. I believe no government should have the power to tell people who are at least 18 years of age what they may do with their own bodies. I also believe that many of the people who hate homosexuals the most are homosexuals who hate themselves. Nine. Will you support stem cell research? I do support stem cell research. I do support the cloning of human blood and human organs. I do not support the cloning of humans. Stem cell research may help to cure many chronic illnesses including the illness that I have. The illness I have usually hits children and young adults before they turn 30 years of age. Many children have a far more harmful form of the illness than I have. Stem cell research may help many people who are not able to have children have healthy children in the future. My children may have the illness I have. My children may not have the illness I have. I did not know the illness that I have existed before 1997. I believe the Federal Government should spend at least one billion dollars a year on stem cell research because the research may help cure many diseases and help humans live long lives and be healthier. Ten. Do you support school choice (charter schools, vouchers, homosexual, tax credits) for education? I support school choice because I believe choice is important. Eleven. Do you support mandatory parental consent for minors seeking abortions? I do not support mandatory parental consent for minors seeking abortions. If minors need to get parental consent for abortions I believe many more minors will commit suicide. If minors need to get parental consent for abortions, I believe many minors will obtain abortions in unsafe places that may cause them physical harm and possibly death. I do believe that many minors get pregnant after being raped by family members and people the family members know. Twelve. Will you support Federal Marriage Amendment? I will not support the Federal Marriage Amendment. I believe homosexuals should be allowed to marry. Thirteen. Do you support vigorous enforcement of anti-obscentiy laws? I only support anti-obscenity laws that do not lessen freedom of speech which is guaranteed by Amendment One of the United States Constitution. People may peacefully boycott and peacefully protest outside of businesses that sell obscene products. Fourteen. Would you support psychological background checks to purchase a firearm? I might support psychological background checks to purchase a firearm. Congress might not want crazy people to be able to buy guns. I do not have a problem with Congress imposing waiting periods on gun purchases. Fifteen. Do you support research using human embryos? I do support research that uses human embryos because the research could allow people who are not able to have healthy children have healthy children. Sixteen. Do you support the right of each town to govern licensure of firearms? Congress should decide how states and towns may license firearms. I have not decided how Congress should allow states and towns to license firearms. Seventeen. Would you support mandatory parental consent for minors seeking emergency contraception services? I do not support mandatory parental consent for minors seeking emergency contraception services because this would probably cause more minors to get pregnant with unwanted children and would probably increase the number of abortions in this country. Eighteen. Do you support making partial-birth abortion illegal? I do not support making partial-birth abortion illegal because partial-birth abortion is a medical procedure that is sometimes necessary. Nineteen. Will you support the distribution of the morning after pill? I do support the wide distribution of the morning after pill. I think the Federal Goverment should give health care clinics many millions of dollars a year so that they may give people free birth control products and free morning after pills. I do not support requiring a mandatory 48-hour "cooling off" period because no government should have the power to require a "cooling off" period for abortion. Mandatory counseling on the risks and consequences of abortion is not constitutional because of Amendment One of the United States Constitution. No person may be required to say anyhing the person does not want to say because freedom of speech includes the freedom not to speak. Three. Will you support federal legislation requiring spousal notification and consent before any abortion is performed? I do not support legislation requiring spousal notification and consent before any abortion is performed. I do not support legislation that would require spousal notification before an abortion is performed. Many women might be beaten to death if they are required to tell their spouses that they want to have abortions. A woman has the right to have an abortion because she has the right to decide what may and may not be done to her own body. A woman should not be the slave of a spouse. If a girlfriend or a wife of mine aborted my child without first telling me she planned on having an abortion, I would end the relationship with her because I would no longer trust her. I do not have the right to keep a woman from aborting a child of mine. If a woman aborts a child of mine when I think the abortion is not medically necessary, I will probably end the relationship with her. A woman should not engage in a sexual activity with me that may result in pregnancy if is she is unwilling to have children with me. Our country would have a lot less abortions each year if most men and most women acted like responsible adults who only engage in a sexual activity that may result in pregnancy when they are willing to have children. Four. Will you support legislation to outlaw so-called "sex selection" abortions? I will not support legislation that outlaws so-called "sex selection" abortions. Five. Would you vote to prohibit the U.S. government from granting any public funds to groups that recommend or perform abortions in the United States of abroad? I will not vote to prohibit the U.S. government from granting any public funds to groups that recommend or perform abortions in the United States or abroad. I believe the U.S. government should grant public funds to groups that may recommend or perform abortions. Abortions are sometimes medically necessary and people who do not realize this are idiots. The best way for the U.S. government to reduce the number of abortions in this country and other countries is to increase the availability of birth control methods. Many groups that recommend abortion provide free birth control to men and women. If Pro-Life groups are smart, they will stop protesting outside of clinics that dispense birth control to men and women. Pro-Life groups would be able to reduce the number of abortions significantly if they provide health care clinics with money which the clinics could only use to buy birth control methods. Pro-Life groups should be pushing members of Congress to make adoption a lot easier than it is now. Pro-Life groups should also push for longer prison sentences for rapists. Six. Should the federal goverment bar the distribution of "home abortion drugs" like RU 486? The federal government should not bar the distribution of "home abortion drugs" like 486. The federal goverment should help fund research dealing with "home abortion drugs" safer than RU 486 because abortions sometimes cause women physical harm. I do realize mention women regret having had abortions many years after they had abortions. Seven. Should the United States Congress prohibit so-called "partial birth abortion" in which a baby is partially delivered and then aborted? I will not support legislation that bans "partial-birth abortion." Eight. Will you support legislation which, under Article III, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, would remove the federal courts jurisdiction over the question of abortion.? I will not support legislation that removes from the federal courts jurisdiction over the question of abortion. Nine. Would you support and cosponser a Life at Conception Act defining that life begins at the moment of conception thereby resolving for all time, as stated by the Supreme Court in Roe v Wade, "the difficult question of when life begins"?
