Just Open the Door

I measure the coffee; too strong,
Then the sugar spilled on the counter
Its one of those days when everythings going to go wrong
I can just feel this one coming on.

I overloaded the washing machine.
Forgot to put fertilizer in the plants.
Didnt call my Mother
broke an antique dish from my Aunt.

Have you ever had a day like this?
I almost climbed back into bed
Figuring what harm could I do there?
Then the dog was at the door, crying to be fed.

I opened up the door and felt a gentle breeze.
Saw the palette of colors in the fall trees
Heard the birds early morning gossip,
Looked up at cloud critters in the sky.

Humans can be so selfish and negative
I know, seems I work at being one.
Gods world awaits, full of wonders
Just open the door and drink it in.
