"Crying and No One Hears"

Lost, adrift in the blue sea of your eyes,
promises of passion so intoxicating
I will slip this skin,
to become the woman your breath created.

Traveling many miles to get here,
my feet sore, bleeding, callus worn.
My heart, tattered and torn,
are you the answer to my life?

I carry along deep loss.
A body lusting for a heart and soul,
an empty ship with ghosts for a crew.
Expecting someone to repair me; they never do.

I will try to be content,
your wandering woman child.
As long as you promise
to keep searching for the real me.

How long for a clock to tick?
Calendar pages turning, years fly by.
I never understood, you see, the key to finding me
was in my ruby slippers all along.
