Brenda,
Boy, what a scare! I was awakened at about 3:30 am MDT Saturday
morning with an upset stomach. As I walked into the bathroom I looked
out the window and saw a reddish tint in the sky. The window faces west
with a partial view to the north.

  Wooohoooo!!! A for real aurora!!!!!

Or so I thought. Upon closer examination it was just the reflection of
the sodium vapor lights at the high school (about a block away) on the
low hanging clouds and the slight fog. There are also sodium vapor
lights downtown which makes for a terrible light pollution problem.

Good thing "country sky viewing" is only about three miles west of
town.

Really thought I had one there.
.
Until next time, clear skies and good viewing.
Vernon :)
