Hello all,

I finally got out and attempted my first imaging of a DSO with my Modified QC. I used Guide to take images of M22 and M8.

10-40sec images M22 4" f/5 Refractor----------------------- 5-40sec images M8 4" f/5 Refractor

Special note: I discovered that with Guide when dark frame subtract is enabled, images taken are not dark frame subtracted when saved. I couldn't let my all night tinkering go to waste with all those hot pixels. I put my QC on the air-condition register in my house and put a Coffey can over it so to cool the camera. Got the camera cooled to around 48F which I believe the temperature was when I did my imaging this morning.

Took a couple of 40sec dark frames. Hence, the images above are dark frame subtracted with a dark frame taken at approximately the same temp, if not a slight bit cooler, as the images. I believe this is an important technique to know, especially if you are missing dark frames. :-)
