Nasho Ride Report
Sunday morning turned out to be a much better day than those dimwits at the Bureau of Meteorology predicted. I ended up with roughly 4 hours sleep after going to a party the night before, but once I got going to Phil's, I was fine. Through the usual harbour tunnel and freeway crap *yawn*
Anyway, Phil and I were waiting out the front of his place for Tim who showed up within a few minutes.. with two more supposedly joining us, on Hondas that is, and of course Phil would be the one to say "Bloody Honda riders, always late!!!"
We got on our way to Nasho a good twenty minutes after 9am and at the last set of lights before turning into the park, Phil wanted to show the world who had the biggest balls and pulled a wheelie that went maybe 40 metres from the lights (correct me if im wrong, Phil) (Ed: Phil insists it was more like 100m.), while Tim was vainly pumping the throttle to keep up with my 9R on his five fiddy..
Phil later had a cry at Stanwell Tops about how none of us saw his wheelie *sob sob*
I thought the guys were going a little slower than normal cuz Phil and Tim seemed to be so far behind for the first few kms. Once we got deeper into the park I started to form the opinion that Phil has a death wish or maybe he trusts his Metzelers more than i trust the Michelins on my steed cuz there was a lot less sun on the road and alot more of that green shit all over the place. We also noticed that there was bit of sand on the other side of the road, which was going to be on our return route.
So after a nice cuppa and take in of the view (again) at Stanwell Tops, we headed back with a bit of caution to the sand, my back wheel came out a bit on one turn.
I have to say this was probably a more sedate run with the boys than the first time i went with them and Tim sure does look funny in my mirrors - his ginormous frame makes that five fiddy look like a damn scooter, the way his knees were hanging off to the sides in the corners!!!
And yes, I had a slight brown trouser moment, no idea of the exact location but i think it was the 6th or 7th turn before going past the booth at the entrance to the park, a sharp left hander, probably going a little too quick and overshot the corner, almost t-boning a Duke coming in the other direction, missed the dude by a foot I think..
