Kids In Our Lives! |
|
|
|
Children are a large part of our lives already. We have 5 nieces and nephews (with another one on the way) that we love being Aunt and Uncle to. We also have tons of younger cousins. Natalie is an elementary school teacher so she spends all day, every day around children! Kids just seem to gravitate towards Kyle, probably because he's just a big kid himself! We can't wait to add our own children to this wonderful group of kids already in our lives. |

Kyle enjoys wrestling around with all of our younger boy cousins. Last Thanksgiving some of the cousins dared Kyle that he couldn't get Grandpa's easy chair away from them. He showed them by promptly sitting down in the chair on top of them! They giggled and wiggled until he finally gave them back their chair!

Natalie prefers the less rowdy crowd. She spent hours playing with her cousin Cayden last Thanksgiving. Cayden was intrigued by the pop up flash on our digital camera. He kept telling Natalie, "more" which meant "Take another picture so I can watch the flash pop up." Finally someone took a picture of both of them together. Cayden wasn't nearly as impressed with the new photographer or her camera as he was with Natalie! |

Kyle and his brother Kevin swung our nephew Johnathen around in the midst of squeals of delight last Christmas. John couldn't get enough of hanging out with the guys! Posing for a picture afterwords with Aunt Natalie (next photo) wasn't nearly as much fun as his games with Uncle Kyle! |
|
Johnathen had to have his picture taken with his Aunt Natalie so he could send it to his pen pal. Since his pen pal is one of Natalie's second grade students, John felt the need to "prove" that he actually knew "Mrs. Spontak."

The girls had to have some of Kyle's attention too at our family Christmas dinner. They persuaded him to help them play their new Dora the Expolorer video game. Oddly enough, they were better at the game than he was! |

Natalie loves to do all sorts of experiential learning projects with her students. This February they hosted a mini Olympic Games in honor of the 2006 Winter Olympics. |

Our family decided to adopt a foster family for Christmas this year instead of exchanging gifts with each other because we alredy have everything we need, but so many children need even the basic necessities. We delivered the gifts and spent time getting to know the kids. We were so pleased to hear that a week after Christmas all three of the children found a forever home together and were adopted! We continue to get updates on how they are doing in their new home. |

Natalie is the "cool" teacher who doesn't mind dressing up if it will help to get a point across to her class. They had a blast visiting a pioneer farm on a field trip. |
