This large breed is best suited for the country. It needs a family that will spend time with it. The Malamute loves drawing a sled or a wheeled cart. Due to the size this breed needs intense obedience training.
Some characteristics are broad head, wolflike expression, mask, powerful build, plumed tail, and a coarse double coat. Their coat needs little bathing but requires brushing to be kept clean. They come in a variety of colors.
Males, are about 25in tall and can weight from 85 to 100 LBS. Bitches are 23in tall and can weight from 75 to 85 LBS.
The family that adds a Malamute to their home is indeed a very lucky family.
