| INTRODUCTION | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The province of Oriental Negros is rich in culture and arts. She prides herself with the various colorful festivals that each of her town and city uniquely offers. Your group has been commissioned by the local tourism council to create a slide presentation documenting a festival of the province of Oriental Negros. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| THE TASK | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You will research on a festival assigned to you. Your objective is to write an essay about the festival. Your essay must include information on the following; 1. What is the festival all about? 2. Why is it held? 3. Where and when is it held? 4. What other activities are held together with the festival? You will present your research using StarOffice 6 presentation. It should also include pictures of the festival and geographical map detailing the location of the place where the festival is held. |

| THE PROCESS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To help you achieve your goal successfully, the following simple steps will guide you on your task: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Within your pc group, agree on the different responsibilities in developing the group's final presentation. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. Assign an encoder, graphics artist, essayist, photographer and when necessary an interviewer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. Organize a notebook to record written materials and keep a brown envelope to keep your collected pictures and geographical map. Keep a diskette in case your pictures and map are taken from online resources. Be sure to keep a back-up copy of all your electronic files. This will be part of your portfolio. |

| 5. Once all information has been gathered, you must sort through your collection, selecting the important stuff only. Begin the writing process. Be sure to include the answers to the questions raised at the task section. |

| 6. Plan your slides. The order of your slides should be: title of the festival, geographical map of the place where the festival is held, the essay about the festival, the pictures, the source, and finally the names of the members of the pc group. Include your curriculum year and section, the name of your school as well as the address of our school. Since you will be sharing your work with other schools from Europe, include your country too. |

| 7. Save your work in a diskette and be sure to have a back-up copy saved in C of your assigned pc. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8. Keep an individual journal to record your progress and learning experiences derived from this activity. Your teacher will call on you to read and share your journal with the rest of the class. This will also be a part of your portfolio. |

| 9. Make sure that your group has an active email account. You will need this the moment you will share your work with students from other schools within our country and later to other European schools who will be joining the project later on. |

| EVALUATION | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Each group member will be given an individual grade as well as group grade. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Group members will be graded on the following: the fulfillment of his/her job; quality of material contributed; content, organization and mechanics of the essay. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Group grade will be based on the following: overall appearance of the final output, collaborative effort made in completing the output and the fulfillment of the project criteria. |

| Rubrics for evaluating the output will be discussed and handed out in the classroom. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| By completing this webquest, you have worked well as a group in obtaining knowledge about your cultural heritage. You also have sharpened your research, writing skills and most of all your computer skills. By sharing your work with other students from other schools within the country and from other European schools as well, you have become ambassadors not just for your school and province but for your country as well. Together, you have successfully created bridges of learning and understanding! BRAVO! |
