| INTRODUCTION | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Filipinos in general are superstitious people. These beliefs whether good or bad have greatly influenced our way of thinking and living. This webquest will help you get a better grasp of our beliefs especially since you are in the threshold of development. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Task | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You will work in groups of four members each. You will research and compile Filipino superstitious beliefs. Your objective is to select from your compilation a belief that has greatly influenced your way of thinking. Write a paragraph about this belief and how it has affected your being. You will present your work using StarOffice presentation so that you can share your sentiments with the whole class. You will also share the same output with other students from around the world through the iEARN.org website under the Superstitions and Imaginations Project. |

| The Process | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To successfully carry out your task, the following simple steps will guide you on what you are supposed to do: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Within your group, divide the work among yourselves and agree on the different responsibilities in developing the group's final output. 2. Each member of your group will do any of the following: researcher, encoder, writer/recordkeeper, and reporter. 3. Organize a notebook to record all your materials for your work. Keep a diskette handy in case you will use the computer to save your files. Be sure to have a back-up copy saved in another diskette or in the hard disk of your pc. 4. You must complete your work within the first week of December 2005 and the final output within the second week of December 2005. 5. Include a symbol to illustrate your superstitions. 6. Since there are numerous superstitious beliefs, sort them under the topics: Birth, Death, Wedding, Work, Numbers and Colors and the like. 7. | By completing this webquest, you have worked well as a group in gaining better understanding of our beliefs as Filipinos. Learning about these beliefs will enrich your own personal lives.
