Bradley Beach, NJ
Catholic Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach NJ

This is my favorite because I used to live right across the street from this church. It hasn't changed much, if at all, during the past several decades.

They start ringing the bells at 9 a.m. on week day mornings and at 10 a.m. on the weekends. I suppose they're programmed because they also play hymns and other music such as Amazing Grace and Beethoven's Ode to Joy.

Main Street, Bradley Beach NJ

This is a great shot of Main Street (CR-71) going south.

On the right is the town center, which is also the location of the train station.

The left near corner is now the home of DelPonte's bakery and the left far corner is now Fleet bank. Don't get me started on Fleet bank. Let's just say I don't do business with them if I can help it.

Hotel La Reine, Bradley Beach NJ
Unfortunately, this building no longer exists. The land is now occupied by one of Bradley Beach's many condominiums.

This is another postcard of the Hotel La Reine that Steve's brother Ralph and Ralph's fiancee Laura gave me. I think it has a better sense of scale than the above. The writing in the lower right corner says, "John E. Nitchie Architect. 150 Nassau St. New York." The postcard's number, 10852, is printed under the writing.

This is the back of the above postcard. The writer, Miss M. Ash, says there is "lots of snow"; I think the postmark says FBR 10, 1909. Click it for a larger image.
R.R. Station Showing Monument at Park, Bradley Beach NJ
Here is the town center. To the right is the railroad station, which was declared an historic building.
Fletcher Lake, Bradley Beach NJ

This is the lake that borders Bradley Beach and Ocean Grove.

Bradley Beach put a lovely little gazebo on the bank of the lake. It would be out of the picture here.

Bradley Beach, NJ

It doesn't seem like this many people crowd the beach these days. Maybe it just looks like there are a lot of people because they're all wearing  black.
