Here at K&S Birdsnest, we have
been breeding and raising baby birds since the 80's. We started our
interest in birds back when we were kids and loved them ever since.
Kenny my husband had a neighbor that breed cockateils and he would
go visit them all the time. His first bird was a teil and he just
loved that bird. I grew up on a farm, where we had alot of pidgeons.
I would see the exotic birds in pet stores and always thought they
were so beautiful. Ken and I decided 15 years ago that we would try
to get some pet birds. We met a friend and she had some birds that
needed homes. Those were are first birds, and decided to try to breed
them. I also wanted to try to learn how to handfeed, so my first baby
was a cockateil. We started to breed teils, lovebirds, finches, and
canary's. It ended up being so much fun that we expanded and now breed
African grey timnehs, 3 different species of amazons (my favorites),
meyers parrots, lovebirds, parroletts, cockateils, and parakeets.
We love ALL of our birds and respect them like family members, they
all have names and are loved everyday, just like everyone should treat
there feathered companions. We love doing this and hope to have a
pet shop just related to exotic birds.
