Kansas State Math Standards for Kindergarten

Standard 1 Math:  Numbers and Computation:  The student uses numerical and computational concepts and procedures.
K.1.1
    Counts up to 20 objects
    Recognizes a whole, a half, and parts of a whole
    Knows position words(first and last)
    Identifies and states value of pennies and dimes
K.1.2
    Represents whole numbers from 0-20 using manipulatives
    Groups objects by 5's and 10's
    Uses zero property of +(4 apples + 0 apples= 4 apples)
K.1.3
    Determines if groups have more than, less than, or the same number of objects
K.1.4
    Joins and separates sets up to 10
    Joins and separates 2 or more sets of objects(with the same number of objects in each set)
Standard 2 Algebra:  The student uses algebraic concepts and procedures in a variety of situations.
K.2.1
    Repeat, extend, and create various types of patterns using different attributes
K.2.4
    Knows and explains using mathematical models to represent place value(tens and ones) and fractions(1 whole and 1/2)
Standard 3 Geometry:  the student uses geometric concepts and procedures in a variety of situations.
K.3.1
    Recognizes and sorts various shapes(including 2 and 3 dimensional)
K.3.2
    Estimates measurements with objects and uses comparison words(longer, shorter, etc.)
    Tells time to the hour(analog and digital)
K.3.3
    Demonstrates position words with objects(over, under, between, etc.)
K.3.4
    Locates whole numbers on a number line(0-20)
    Demonstrates counting forward or backward from a given number on a number line(0-20)
Standard 4 Data:  The student uses concepts and procedures of data analysis in a variety of situations.
K.4.1
    Knows the difference between real and make believe
    States if it is possible to have more than one outcome when doing an experiment
K.4.2
    Identifies and records information using a graph or table and finds the most
