Gone will be the days of togetherness
along will vanish it's charm serenity and finesse.

These souls in my vicinity will fly away
then this soul among earthly desires will alone sway.

Yes! We were all for one and one for all
our trust, belief and hope never belied never could fall.

Friends of all, foes of none
helping hands, consenting minds-that is how it was done.

Studying together, drinking from the same cup sharing of those lunches
remembrances of howling smiling playing and strolling, all in zealous bunches.

Cherish did we those scoffs those pranks and a timeless laugh
shared also pain, agony and distress but never it was enough.

Saw a friend lose his love, saw another lose a friend
eyes all wet, heads all down, thought this loss would never end.

But then we looked up to find what lay there
and gathered shreds of our happiness from here, there and there.

Where do we go from here who we become, is the poser now
but not these friends this time, only I know the answer how.

Yes! Grown ups are we now, today we have become boys to men
but all while staying together, all while having a friend.
