| September 2006 Ashleigh 5 years old Trenton 3 years old The Nicholsons are doing great. We made the move to Sitka this past Spring and are currently in the early stages of house building, the kids are excited about choosing paint for their rooms and I am excited to have my belongings out of storage. Ashleigh is busy with preschool three days a week. Her teacher reports that she is a very good student and Ash loves to come home and share her knowledge with Trenton and Mom. She really is a sponge for knowledge. When not in school, Ash loves to craft with mom and Trent, and play with one of her many cousins. She has turned into quite the little fisherwoman and has informed us that she wants a fourwheeler of her own. I suggested that she masters her bicycle first. I can not believe that in a few weeks my little girl will turn 5! Ash recently met her cousin, Hunter. He is Jennifers 4 month old baby. That wonderful visit fueled Ash's maternal instinct, as she is forever toting around her "diaper bag" and baby doll. She is a wonderful helper with the babies. Our little guy Trenton, Loves the time that Ash is in school as it is his chance to have our undivided attention from Mom. I recently considered enrolling him in preschool, and he wanted nothing to do with that. He loves going on long walks to the beach and park with me, and just loves to sit and play while I watch, I savor the quiet times with him (as they are few and far between, he is so active!). Trents still wants to be a Beaver & an Alaskaair pilot. His recent passion is bugs, yesterday he caught a beetle. I guess that it was a stink bug as he came wandering inside with his hand to his nose complaning about that stinky bug. "Smell my hand Mama", is what he said, so I did, and it STANK! I guess that the beetle also pinched him in the nose (guess that he was trying to smell it), Trenton learned that he doesn't really like beetles and I learned that they not only pinch, but stink! As for Shane and I, we are doing great. Shane loves his new position with the State. It keeps him busy, but not busy enough to schedule in a few deer hunts this fall. I had a busy summer with managing the Inn, and I am LOVING the fact that the busy tourist season is behind us for a few months.
