I'd Love To Live In Magic
Shmamerica....
This Summer I once more ventured across the pond to a land where happiness reigns all the year round and music plays ever so loudly...America beckons. Last year i thought i'd hate the place but came away rather fond of it -how would this year treat me?
Montana
The Adventure started in Montana, across on the western side of the States in June. Unfortunatly i came to do a Geology project...boo. But this meant that oxuni payed for my flight...yaaaay!!And that was 600..Ooooo!!
So anyway - this involved going into the woods and mountains on my own and telling rocks what they were. Isolation, Bears, Rattlesnakes, Thunderstorms, Naked Sunbathing Opportunities, Beautiful Scenery... life was indeed fun.
Oh, except i'm now expected to hand in a report on it to count towards my degree. D'oh!
We stayed at a Geological Field centre run by some very nice people from Indiana uni. who gave us food, accommodation, beer and the loan of one of their vehicles to which we are deeply indebted. The feild station has it's own web page which can be found Here, I think...if not go to yahoo and look it up cos it's really a very spectacular part of the world.Oh, and Hello! if you were there and were reading this...
Oh and John Denver did a song called "Wild Montana Skies" so it must be a cool place.
CAMP JOHNSONBURG NJ
After the fun and games of Montana i went back to the camp i was at last year and worked for FREE!!! as a counsellor on archery camp. My co counsellor was a lovely girl called Alicia.
Camp, although different from last year was still a lot of fun, with new freindship made and old ones strengthened and the chance to show Americans how to play proper football...
Also at camp i met Kathy Walker (yes, we have the same surname, well done...) who was even kind enough to let me come back to her house at the end of the summer to experience the joys of Rockaway and the suburban life. Thank you for that one...No really -it was AWESOME. or something or other...
Rock on J'BURG 2000 - see y'all there...
TREK AMeRICA
Next fun item on the agenda was to travel from NY to LA in 3 weeks in a minibus. I chose to accept and part with a large wodge of cash to join the Trek AMerica family...Here i met a lot of cool people...

And did a lot of cool stuff...

I will tell more of these things when i have more time....Until then, you'll just have to use your own little sick and sordid imagination...
