Salvador Dali
Salvador Dali, an exquisite man with exquisite talent.  His odd imagination and intellect allowed him to create such fine works of art.  This one used as my backround is called 'Cannabalism'. (There is a smaller image below to veiw if you cannot get the full effect from my backround.)   The one above is one of his MANY self portraits.  He liked to incorperate his physical image into his works.

"Everytime someone dies, it's Jules Verne's fault," claimed
Dali.  The death of Dali in 1989 was no ones fault but it brought to an end one of the twentieth century's most extraordinary and intruiging lives. For more than sixty years Dali, with his trademark moustache, epitomized the eccentric artists; he once tried to give a lecture dressed in a diving suit and arrived at the Sorbonne in a Rolls Royce filled with cauliflowers. His name is and always will be widley known but it seems as more of a personality than an artist. Images as diverse as the famous 'melting watches of The Persistence of memory, The Christ of St. John of the Cross, and The Metamorphosis of Narcissus are depicted in a manner both striking and subtle, moving and disturbing.
