OBJECTIVE: I am in my fourth year at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York. My major is secondary education/English. Becoming a teacher is my ultimate goal, and I would like to teach in the New York City school system. I also plan to get my masters and possibly eventually get my doctorate in English.  English Literature is my passion, and it is something that I have always been interested in. I hope to one day be able to teach about the works I love, and possibly open  a student’s eyes  to something new and exciting.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

My experience with children is very extensive. Besides babysitting for neighbors and family members, I have spent the last six years caring for my nine year old cousin every other weekend. She has cerebral palsy and is unable to walk or talk yet. It is a great responsibility to care for her, but I see more rewards then burdens. That’s why I do it. For the past two years I have been working part time at Toscanini Day Care, located at the State University at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York.

Studied in a basic liberal arts program with a focus on education

Major in English/Secondary Education. I have forty-eight credits in English and am a part of the Secondary Education Teacher Preparation Program.  

 

EMPLOYMENT

                1994-2001    Babysitting for Michelle Santangelo every other weekend.

                      My responsibilities include providing play and activities, doing physical exercises, helping with homework, feeding, bathing, and putting to bed.

My responsibilities included sales, stocking, and optical room technician. I would stock the store using items located in the optical room, and prepare lists of needed items. Located in the Hylan Shopping Plaza Staten Island, New York 10306

My responsibilities include assisting full time staff, changing diapers, preparing food, napping and monitoring nap rooms, basic maintenance of the house, caring for a total of eighteen children, providing play and fun activities, and being a part of helping to create stronger individuals who have a passion for learning.
