1. Michael T.¹ Chitwood, son of Pleasant Chitwood and Anne Brannon, was born March 15, 1832.

He married Melinda West. Melinda was born in Tenn? October 12,1837. Melinda was the daughter of Jesse (Jeptha) West and Carolyn. Melinda died August 8, 1907 Johnston Hill Cemetery Newton, IL, at 69 years of age. At 17 years of age Melinda became the mother of William Huston Chitwood Kentucky, November 8, 1854. At 20 years of age Melinda became the mother of John Marion Chitwood Kentucky, March 28, 1858. At 22 years of age Melinda became the mother of Pleasant Chitwood Kentucky, September 2, 1860. At 25 years of age Melinda became the mother of Mary Margaret Caroline Chitwood Alabama, May 3 1863. At 29 years of age Melinda became the mother of Jessie Chitwood Kentucky, May 29, 1867.

At 22 years of age Michael became the father of William Huston Chitwood Kentucky, November 8, 1854. At 26 years of age Michael became the father of John Marion Chitwood Kentucky, March 28, 1858. At 28 years of age Michael became the father of Pleasant Chitwood Kentucky, September 2, 1860. At 31 years of age Michael became the father of Mary Margaret Caroline Chitwood Alabama, May 3 1863. At 35 years of age Michael became the father of Jessie Chitwood Kentucky, May 29, 1867.

Michael T. Chitwood and Melinda West had the following children:

2 i. William Huston² Chitwood was born Kentucky November 8, 1854. William died 1910 at 55 years of age. His body was interred Newton, IL, Johnston Hill Cemetery.

+ 3 ii. John Marion Chitwood was born March 28, 1858.

4 iii. Pleasant Chitwood was born Kentucky September 2, 1860. Pleasant died August, 1913 at 52 years of age. Her|his body was interred Oakwood, IL, Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

+ 5 iv. Mary Margaret Caroline Chitwood was born May 3 1863.

6 v. Jessie Chitwood was born Kentucky May 29, 1867. Jessie died April 10, 1928 at 60 years of age. Her|his body was interred Oakwood, IL, Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
