XV 535 Virago |
ok well it had to happen after the winter locked up in my garage i took the virago out to get it ready for the first big rally of the season and to my horror mdf dust (from my dads woodworking bussiness) had eaten through the lacquer and the paint was chipping off in great lumps underneath :o( so i wasnt happy as you can imagine
so time for a respray and a quick rebiuld with only a week to go before the rally |

so here it is a naked virago see that black rectangle which would be under the seat ? well that is the real fuel tank the top tank is really just a dummy that only holds a few litres of fuel which is fine except for the fact that you cant look or tap the tank to see how much juice youve got
anyway the bike needed to change it had had its paint drip effect paint for comeing up to 6 years so it really needed to grow up a bit and the effect is a bit dated now |

i stripped the tank and mudgaurd back to bare metal which took its time but revealed a few nasty dents so i had to fill the biggest
i used to design tattoos and still love the tribal type tats so the idea was to design something kind of tribal but with a twist something like a celtic knot without being a knot the idea for hte tank came to me when i saw myself in a shop window as i rode past and saw my hair blowing out the back of my lid |
