Dean
Cain's depiction of Clark Kent is memorable, not only for the amusing,
romantic scenes with Lois, but because this version of Clark is a fully-realized
man. Despite having Superman's amazing powers, Clark is concerned about
his love for Lois Lane-and his human identity. When Cain plays the dual
role of Clark Kent/Superman, for the first time outside the comics the
adult Clark has two loving parents with whom he interacts, whom he addresses
as "Mom and Dad," and whose advice he often seeks. Significantly, Clark
Kent tells Lois (Teri Hatcher) in the 1994 episode, "Tempus Fugit":
Superman is what I can do. Clark is who I am."
