Kerby takes on Yancy

Two of the pro league's finest young slotmen go head-to-head tonight when Kerby Raymundo of Purefoods takes on FedEx's Yancy de Ocampo in the Ginebra-Purefoods PBA King of the Court one-on-one tournament.

Raymundo and de Ocampo pulled off close victories in the eliminations and need one more win to join Anthony dela Cruz of Shell in the round-robin semifinals of the Ginebra division.

The 6-foot-5 Raymundo, who needed a last-second basket to oust San Miguel Beer's Nic Belasco 12-10, will give away a couple of inches in height and wingspan to De Ocampo but admittedly has more moves around the basket.

However, De Ocampo has the longer range, something he used to the hilt in a come-from-behind 18-14 win over Leo Bat-og of Sta. Lucia Realty.

The other second-round match in the division for players 6-4 and above pits Talk N Text behemoth Asi Taulava against Red Bull's Davonn Harp.

Reigning league MVP Willie Miller, also of Red Bull, is guaranteed a semis spot in the Purefoods division for players below 6-4, where Shell's Chris Calaguio, Sta. Lucia's Francis Adriano, San Miguel's Joey Mente and Leo Avenido of Coke are set to battle it out for the two remaining berths.

* Fil-foreign players bidding to join next year's rookie draft have only until Oct. 31 to submit their complete eligibility papers to the league.
