Fresh batteries in my Discman,
This ride always seems longer,
although it's basically the
same distance.
I've got the route
all mapped out in my head;
take the Thruway all the way
to the Tappan Zee and get on
the Cross Westchester, just long enough
to endure the painful construction...

And even though there are
plenty of care on the road near Buffalo,
they won't be there past Rochester.
And once again I'll be
alone on the road,
where, for those short six hours,
I'm allowed to be myself,
singing along at the top of my lungs,
with only one thing on my mind:
home.
